Miss Sohee’s Stunning Spring 2025 Couture Show Steals the Spotlight at PFW

Miss Sohee‘s Paris Fashion Week debut wows with dramatic volumes and Korean-inspired designs. Coco Rocha and other models showcase the collection at Karl Lagerfeld’s former residence.

Miss Sohee’s Couture Debut: A Royal Affair

Miss Sohee made a grand entrance onto the official Paris Couture Week calendar, showcasing a breathtaking Spring 2025 collection at the historic Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, formerly Karl Lagerfeld’s residence. The show was a celebration of dramatic silhouettes, exquisite craftsmanship, and a deep dive into the designer’s South Korean heritage.

This collection began as a journey of discovery, inspired by classical and modern sculptures. This of couture lies in the stability to transcend the boundary between fashion and art. Certain shapes sculpted on the body are from natural objects, and leather has become one of my sculptural mediums, while elements of my inaugural collection are reimagined with a fresh perspective.

Coco Rocha opened the show in a striking black lace catsuit and croc-embossed leather corset, setting the tone for a runway filled with theatrical flair. Rocha’s dynamic presence and playful interactions with fellow models recalled the iconic fashion shows of the 1980s.

Designer Sohee Park, a Central Saint Martins graduate, has quickly become a red-carpet favourite, dressing celebrities like Cardi B, Sharon Stone, and Anya Taylor-Joy. Her couture creations are known for their over-the-top volumes and dramatic details.

This collection was no exception. Highlights included a knotted pink satin column gown with a giant fan-shaped panel, a lilac taffeta skirt with an enormous train, and a silver petal-shaped hood. Park incorporated traditional Korean elements, such as peony embroidery and wisteria flower adornments, into her designs.

A particularly striking piece featured a trompe-l’oeil crocodile pattern created using Najeonchilgi, a mother-of-pearl inlay technique. Elaborate headpieces, designed in collaboration with milliner Edwina Ibbotson, paid homage to the historic costumes of Korean empresses.

Park, who has built a thriving couture workshop in just five years, expressed her growing confidence in embracing her cultural background. With plans to launch a handbag line and a new partnership with Hyosung Group to develop innovative materials, Miss Sohee is a force to be reckoned with in the couture world.

Key Silhouettes: Dramatic volumes, exaggerated trains, sculpted bodices, and statement sleeves.

Key Accessories: Elaborate headpieces, statement belts, and sculptural details integrated into the garments.

Trend: A modern take on couture with a strong emphasis on cultural heritage and theatrical presentation.
