Fashion and technology meet in an intriguing new release of Apple’s iPhone Pocket in collaboration with the Japanese designer Issey Miyake, an experiment in wearable technology and minimalist luxury.
The theme, ‘the joy of wearing an iPhone in your own way’ truly redefines practicality and design through Japanese craftsmanship along with Apple’s design ethos.

A Combination of Design and Function
Drawing inspiration from Issey Miyake’s signature pleats, it reveals structure and fluidity. Crafted in Japan using a 3D-knitting printing process, the ribbed material serves the purpose of movement and lightness with the aim to wear technology as an extension of individuality. The iPhone Pocket is versatile and expressive, designed to be worn crossbody, over the shoulder or tied to a bag.

A Human-Centred Design Philosophy
Yoshiyuki Miyamae, Design Director at Issey Miyake studied the relationship with our devices. This human-centred approach reinforces Apple’s continued mission to make technology personal, emotional and effortlessly wearable. The collaboration with Miyake is one of the many Apple has with the world’s leading designers in pursuit of understanding humans and their devices.
Colour, Craft and Character
This limited edition release comes in two styles, the short strap and the long strap design, in the colours, cinnamon, black, lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock and sapphire. Each tone complements both neutral and bold wardrobes, making it a must-have accessory for modern creatives and fashion enthusiasts alike.

More Than Just a Pocket
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the ribbed open-knit structure offers multi-purpose practicality, easily holding AirPods, cards or other everyday essentials. It’s a fashion statement with utility that merges Japanese sensibility with Apple’s intuitive design philosophy.

A Full Circle Connection
Interestingly, the connection between Apple and Issey Miyake dates back decades. Although there never was an actual partnership, the former Apple CEO was often seen wearing the designer’s black turtlenecks on various keynote stages across the globe, making this collaboration feel like a full circle moment.
Mark your calendars, because the iPhone Pocket will be available in select Apple stores worldwide. Could this be the next cult luxury-tech accessory? Share your thoughts below.
