Age, a superb steakhouse a hidden gem over the hills. Situated in Anantara Layan Phuket
Featuring the most mouthwatering meats I’ve ever had and fresh locally sourced seafood. They offer a great curated selection of the finest wines from across the world which is quite unique in Phuket. Dining at Age was quite the culinary experience. I am surprised as to why they don’t have a few Michelin stars yet. The service was top-notch. I was meeting a girlfriend of mines that loves this place and I was running very late. Age closes usually at 22:30 and the kitchen/staff stayed open just for us. We were the very much the only persons dining there. It is low season here in Phuket, we were the only diners past 22:00 on a Thursday. Age is the culinary experience I really enjoyed.
The atmosphere is classy and very welcoming. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable even with my lateness. They make you feel like a VIP from start to finish. We were running low on time to order food. We began with Burrata salad, roasted potato and truffle gnocchi. These dishes were refreshing and just what was needed to start off our dinner. Originally I had ordered a Tajima Wagyu Steak but they were sold out. Not surprising maybe next time! So I opted for USDA Rib eye (medium rare) with some fries. It was divine. I rate this spot 10/10. If you’re a steak lover, this is the place to go. It was truly an unforgettable culinary experience.
