Female Sneakerhead, fashionista, Grown-ish star, and student Yara Shahidi has unveiled her capsule collection with Adidas Originals last week. Taking inspiration from her combined Iranian and Black heritage, the two-part collaborative footwear and apparel collection.
Yara Shahidi Made Her Adidas Collab Work For The Red Carpet At The MTV Awards too. At the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, Yara Shahidi arrived in a look she helped to design herself — an achievement to tick off that fashion bucket list.
The collection is highlighted by a Superstar sneaker featuring a beige worn leather upper, with brown and yellow suede stripes and heel panels, metal lace jewels and a scalloped tongue. The shoe’s upper is detailed with gold foil with the word yar, a derivation of Yara’s name meaning friend.

The collection also features two’ 60s-era-inspired Adidas tracksuits. The striking satin track top and pants are updated with relaxed cuts on the arms and legs, as well as a cropped fit in the body, and are elevated with Iranian inspired patterns. Meanwhile, the varsity track top and pants are offered in mustard colour, symbolic of the mustard seed.

Accompanying the collection is a campaign that brings together Shahidi with music creative Duckwrth, as well as models Andrea Thomas and Dora Owusu.
Adidas and Shahidi capsule launched exclusively in North America on adidas.com, the brand’s Confirmed app and select retailers.
