From announcing his Grammy nomination to removing everyone from his following list except Taylor Swift. Kanye West is on the move again after his long radio silence. From the evening of the 67th Grammy award show that transcended down onto Bianca Censori’s scandalous red carpet look and his new Diddy fashion clothing line, it got the internet talking again. For the cherry on top, his brand, YEEZY, received deactivation from Shopify due to the swastika shirts he was selling. So what is up with Kanye and what is his next move?
Ye’s Long Time Feud With Taylor Swift
After receiving a ban from instagram due to his antisemetic comments in 2022. Kanye – now legally named Ye sparked conversations again after he unfollowed everybody on instagram with the exception of his arch nemesis – Taylor Swift, where the two share a long term feud since 2009 after Kanye stole her award acceptance speech at the MTV Music Awards to disregard her win for best female video.
While Ye and Taylor managed to reconcile after that significant moment, unfortunately their friendship was left in total shambles after Ye uploaded his “Famous” music video with Taylor Swift exposed in the music video without her consent, the thumbnail has since been changed.
This sent Taylor swift into the plunge as she lost everything and went into hiding before the release of her album ”Reputation”. Only a few years later where the Tortured Poets Department singer was proved innocent.
After almost 10 years, Ye is possibly still hooked onto the idea of destroying Taylor Swift by announcing his Grammy nomination on instagram (which has been now deleted) having only Taylor swift in his following list.
The Grammy’s 2025 Gone Wrong?
The evening of the Grammy’s, Ye and his wife Bianca Censori arrived at the red carpet with Ye in a simple all black look and Bianca covered in a big black fur coat.
With the public’s distaste towards Ye’s fashion decisions for his wife, nothing could ever prepare anyone for the moment when Bianca dropped her thick coat revealing her full uncensored body for the paparazzis to capture. She was only dressed in a sheer transparent dress.
The same sheer transparent dress was announced as a collection drop by Ye for his clothing line, YZY alongside with other controversial items such as swastika embossed shirts and Diddy’s graphic shirts where he expresses his strong stance together with the sex trafficking and racketeering offender.
Right almost immediately, Shopify deactivated Yeezy from the website as his controversial collection drop violated their community guidelines. His instagram is now left empty with 4 people he follows, his wife, Bianca Censori and both of Diddy’s children, Justin Dior and Christian combs.
Could this have been a shock marketing strategy curated by Ye to be back on the headlines? Evoking ruckus for him in order to stay relevant and “iconic”?
