Fittingly set at the historical Yeomanry House, an army facility and drill house, the TOGA Autumn Winter 2026 ready-to-wear collection was nothing short of military-grade perfection. Titled Pull, Crumple, Pressed, Yasuko Furuta focuses on the fabrics within the collection and how they adapt to these pressures. A metaphor for resistance and adaptation, Furuta expertly tells a story of how people adjust to an ever-changing social world, and how to find meaning within the chaos of it all.

Since its founding in 1997, TOGA delivers collections after collection of innovative minimalism. Pull, Crumple, Pressed continues to achieve the brand’s signature aesthetic in a way that we’ve not yet seen before. The underlying commonality for the pieces in this collection is deliberate imperfection. With asymmetrical collars, the exposed undersides of skirts, and haphazardly done buttons – the garments in this collection showcase the modernity of deconstruction.
The colour palette remains predominately neutral. However, the sea of black, cream, and grey is delightfully interrupted with pops of reds, blues, and the occasional tartan or animal print. The pieces in this collection maintain the signature expert tailoring that TOGA is renown for.
Furuta plays with contrasting fabrics to further drive home this idea of shaping and reshaping, of resistance and give. There are wool blazers, silk trousers, and even a daring head-to-toe leather look. Pieces are layered unexpectedly, adding dimension to the collection. In several looks, the waist is cinched with layers of folded and crumpled cardigans. Sheer wraps are tied over dresses and oversized shearling cuffs added to otherwise simple pieces. Furuta layers to her advantage, using the depth it provides to create the structure and sharpness typical of the brand. Isolated accessories, like the large gem brooches or the singular flower earrings, add an element of opulence to the collection.
In short, this collection is unpredictable, multifaceted, and sleek. It emphasizes the pliable nature of fabric and how it can adapt to tensions and pressure. The AW26 TOGA collection is both experimental and modern, a true representation of the TOGA brand and of the visionary that is Yasuko Furuta.
