Honest Review: A New 24-Hour Beauty Routine

The beauty world is a maze of promises, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve tried your fair share of products for your beauty routine with varying results. It can be frustrating to find the right products for you, digging through reviews and TikTok videos lamenting the next “it” product, that doesn’t even work for your skin, hair, or body type.

Today, I’m sharing my honest reviews on some products I was given to find if they work for me or not, with no fluff—just the beauty truth. I’ll be trying a new night and morning routine to test out each product and their effects on my skin, hair, and lips. Discover how this 24 hour routine went for me.

Get ready for bed with me, reviewing these new products for my nighttime skincare routine.

But first, I lit a Lords Fragrance House candle to set the mood, and the lavender scent was perfect to create a calming atmosphere before bed. Then let’s dive into this new 24-hour beauty routine!

Cleanser

I first tried the 3-in-1 Balm Cleanser from Rosalique’s anti-redness line. It’s a gentle cleanser with redness-reducing active ingredients that removes makeup and works as a soothing mask.

My Review

At first touch, the balm is very oily, but that probably has to do with the makeup removing properties of the cleanser. It also removes makeup quite well. The product is made for all skin types, implying even acne-prone skin, but I would advise those with acne-prone skin and oily skin to be cautious and to cleanse thoroughly and make sure the product doesn’t strip your skin of all their natural oils.

My skin isn’t overly oily, but it has its slick sebum days, and it hasn’t been acne-prone since my early teens. So in that regard, the cleansing balm didn’t have any adverse effects on my skin. And since I don’t deal with redness, that aspect of the product is not a selling point for me, but I enjoyed the other benefits.

When using the cleansing balm, it applies easily and smoothly with a medium thickness and light feeling on my face. It worked really well in removing makeup, one dose of the product was enough and after removing it, my skin felt clean and fresh. The balm also works to stay on the skin as a mask for deeper moisturization.

Night Cream

Rosalique has a Soothing Night Cream in their same anti-redness line that I paired with the cleansing balm. The cream is made for all skin types and clinically proven with IBR-CalmDeAge® technology. The cream reduces redness, brightens dark circles, and improves skin complexion.

My Review

Applying the cream, I first noticed it had a thin consistency which didn’t feel heavy or oily on my skin after applying, and there was no cool burning sensation often accompanied by skincare products. Instead, it left my skin feeling and looking glowy and healthy. I felt the moisturizing effects after I woke up.

I used the product for a week in my beauty routine and saw noticeable improvement in my dark circles. However, they were not completely gone so it might need longer term use to do so.

Hair Serum

Next, I also tried the Follicle Boost Hair Density Serum from Monpure, made with retinol, pumpkin seed extract, and AHA.

My Review

The serum was very easy to apply to my hair with a thin and milky consistency. My hair type is 4c, and the serum worked really well with the texture and thickness. The thin formulation allowed the product to reach my scalp quickly and spread evenly. With thicker products I find there is build-up and flaky product left behind.

I started using the serum every 3 days and ended up noticing clear effects. I no longer had an itchy scalp after the first couple uses, and there was no leftover residue in my hair—which is an automatic plus in my book. The product wasn’t sticky and dried into my hair naturally with no oily feeling from the milky formula. I will definitely be adding this to my beauty routine.

The Morning Beauty Routine

Moisturizer

The following morning I tried out the Lait-Crème Concentré from Embrolysse. The cream is multi-functional as a hydrating moisturizer, makeup base, and hydrating mask.

My Review

Putting this cream on in the morning, I found it worked well under makeup as a base and as a moisturizer. The cream’s formula left my skin feeling hydrated, soft, and smooth. Applying under my makeup, I had a glowy finish to my skin, which makes it perfect for the girlies who want a glass skin effect.

I like the product with its versatility as a makeup base and moisturizer. The product is quite thin which may work for you, however, I often use thicker creams for my face, and that’s probably why I won’t introduce it into my normal routine.

Lip Treatment

Following the cream and to prepare for my day, I tried Essence’s The Super Peptide Glossy Lip Treatment, formulated with shea butter for optimized hydration.

My Review

Seeing as now it’s winter, and no matter how humid Paris is year-round, not even that saves my skin from the drying effects of below-freezing temperatures. Meaning, lip balm is a constant need in my winter arsenal, so I thought I’d give this one a go.

With lip balms, it’s easy to go wrong, as most seem to be more drying than hydrating with a need for constant reapplication. But I found this lip balm to be long lasting with a light, non-sticky formula. I didn’t need to reapply, and it had a very natural finish leaving no color on my lips. I particularly loved the inclusion of shea butter, which I believe really boosted the hydrating effect of the lip treatment naturally.

Beauty Routines That Works With You

A great beauty routine isn’t about having a million steps—it’s about finding the products that make you feel your best. Perhaps some of these products gave you an idea for what you’re missing in your routine. My favorites from the line-up include the hair serum and the night cream. I felt the most improvement with these products and would definitely buy them again.

New products can surprise you—hopefully with glowing skin and not blistering welts. All these products did well on my skin, leaving no harsh side-effects, but it’s best to do your own research to see if the ingredients work for you or not. I also highly recommend patch testing before you put a product all over your face, body, or hair.
