Celine creative director Hedi Slimane has tapped music creative Leikeli47 for his latest musician Celine Portrait Series for the Paris-based brand. The Los Angeles-based Leikeli47, who released “Chitty Bang” her first single of the year in early January, dons a Celine tracksuit, an oversized fur coat and various scarves.
Hedi Slimane Makes Leikeli47 Face of Celine Portrait Series
I have always been a fan Hedi Slimane as Celine’s creative, artistic and image director, but one of his true passions and talents is photography. Now, Slimane has captured the Virginia-born artist Leikeli47 for his latest series of portraits, spotlighting the musician in her signature balaclava and an array of new-season Celine garments.

Hedi Slimane said on the photographs and rapper: “I am really fond of Leikeli47, her distinctive and cool sound and sophisticated flow, her strong and endearing personality.”
The photographs are all shot in black-and-white, a signature Slimane approach, and see Leikeli47 wear a Celine-branded tracksuit alongside a pair of Celine CT-01 “Z” sneakers in white. Elsewhere, Leikeli47 wears a Celine hoodie and an oversized, shaggy overcoat.
Becoming a muse for Slimane was a big moment for Leikeli47 too.
Leikeli47 told Interview, “Working with Hedi was so eye-opening. I couldn’t believe I was even on his radar to begin with, given the megastars that he usually photographs. Knowing that I’m in company with that is still sinking in. We talked about everything from Foxy Brown to the Beach Boys, and the clothes were beautiful”.
