When I peeked at the new GCDS x Polly Pocket compact, my brain travelled to a carpet that faintly smelled of crayon wax and cereal milk. Back then, I’d flatten myself onto the bedroom floor and build universes out of colorful shells and plastic figures. Fast forward to 2025, GCDS and Mattel Inc. gift us the same feelings with a luxury Polly Pocket collection.

Brothers Giuliano and Giordano Calza launched their Italian fashion house in 2015. GCDS, which stands for Giuliano Calza Fashion Studio, is recognized for its playful streetwear designs and bold pop culture references, combined with Italian craftsmanship. With a primary market in Italy and Asia, and an ambitious growth strategy across Europe and the US, GCDS continues to shape the future of contemporary fashion with each new launch.
GCDS x Polly Pocket: a collection of childhood memories.

The special-edition Polly Pocket x GCDS collaboration is a full-immersion experience. You can style your hair with the glossy compact pink Hair Comb and clip your hair up with the matching Hair Clip. Are you a traveller? You won’t want to miss out on the metal lilac Hotel Keyring with gold details, inspired by vintage hotel room keys, and the padded Airplane Mask, made of soft-touch fabric.
“Ever since I was a kid, the moment I thought of something beautiful, those pastel cases would appear in my mind like a reflex. These tiny toys were magical representations of a bigger world—small enough to hold in your palm, but powerful enough to unlock entire scenarios and fantasies. That feeling shaped me. I’ve built my creative universe on the idea that ‘cute’ isn’t superficial—it’s a bold, emotional language of contemporary culture.” – Giuliano Calza

A Legacy of Playful Collaboration.
This is not the first time GCDS has played with nostalgia, particularly with Mattel Creations. In 2024, the fashion house and the toy empire collaborated on a heart-shaped clutch featuring the Polly Pocket characters. The bag featured an exterior shell with an inner side containing an assortment of Polly Pocket miniatures. Additionally, it featured the GCDS logo on one side and the Polly Pocket logo on the other for a perfect blend. The catch? There were only 20 for sale.

However, the most eye-catching piece of the new Polly Pocket drop is arguably the Polly Pocket x GCDS Compact. Inside the nostalgic pink heart, you can find several Italian references. In fact, you will step into a luxury pocket-sized Milan split into four lovely settings, where you can explore every corner and have fun.
“With this launch, I didn’t just redesign a toy—I encapsulated my world into a new pocketworld,” said Calza. “And I hope it resonates with the GCDS community and Polly lovers around the globe with the same emotional intensity it holds for me. Because when nostalgia meets design, it becomes desire.”
Play with the different locations featuring two micro dolls dressed entirely in GCDS. Start from the relaxing plaza, where Polly can take her bike and ride to the nearest pizzeria. Later in the afternoon, she can enjoy an ice cream with a friend and go shopping at the dreamy GCDS boutique.

But it doesn’t end here, because Giuliano Calza knew what he was doing when creating this compact. “Redesigning Polly Pocket marks a personal milestone,” said Calza, Creative Director. It’s full of interactive details. You can open the box in the park, where you’ll find a pizza illustrated inside, and you can also open the pizzeria’s door. Additionally, you can move around your ice cream cart along with your bike to create your favorite Milan setting.
This exclusive collection is a bridge between generations. Once again, Giuliano Calza and his team at GCDS understand that nostalgia is more than a swift trend; it’s a powerful connector. So, whether you’re a lifelong collector, a fashion enthusiast, or simply someone chasing that pastel-hued feeling, the Polly Pocket x GCDS collection invites you to play without requiring instructions. Just open your heart, and the world unfolds in your palm.
