Trends for Summer 2023

Don’t miss out on this season’s must-haves. Stay cool and stylish with our expert fashion tips and find your perfect summer look.

Wide Brimmed Hats

First things first, let’s talk about hats. The bigger, the better! Opt for more statement pieces wide-brimmed sun hats. Designers Adam Lippes, Victor Glemaud, Dur Doux, and many more integrated wide-brimmed hats into their collections. Not only a way to elevate a minimal piece but also protect your skin from the strong UV rays this summer. Whether your lounging on a beach or taking a stroll through Central Park, a wide brimmed hat is the perfect accessory for any sunny day. Adding elegance to your fit.

Bold Colors and Prints

A new energy is sizzling in New York City. Bold colors and prints are being seen in everything from dresses and skirts to suits and shoes. PatBo’s collection is everything bold tropical, elegant and definitley a lot of statement pieces. Fearlessly adding tropical prints, vibrant colors, hand sewn beads all together making an elegant modern design with a Brazilian flare. Even Christian Cowen is bringing in bold outlandish, maximalist boots. Gorgeous shade of green sets spotted at Cuculelli Shaheen, Prabal Gurung, and Area. Add a pop of green monochrome in your wardrobe for that bold color fit.

Crochet

Crochet has been recently popular in NYFW. Many designers have incorporated crochet into their Spring and summer collections. This season has showcase versatility and elevation in crochet. We definitely elevated crochet from the beach to soirée. It is not only sexy but also elegant. As seen on Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Frederick Anderson, Gabriela Hearst, Jonathan Simkai, and many more are incorporating their versatility in crochet. Overall bringing crochet from the beach to the runway and now to evening wear.

Flowy Maxi Dresses/Skirts

Flowy maxi dresses swarmed in New York fashion week several designers like Michael Kors,  Bronx Banco, Bevza, Marissa Wilson and many more have experimented with ruffles, frills, drapes to add dimension and movement to these gorgeous maxi dresses and skirts. Overall, the maxi skirt or dress is very versatile and can be paired with trainers, strappy sandals, or chunky boots, creating an effortless and easy-breezy summer look.

Flats

This season we are opting for more comfortable footwear. Most of the collections showcased in New York prominently featured flats. I love the different styles and shapes of flats that designers have showcased, from square toe to pointed toe, and chunky platform flats, paving the way for a more walkable fashionista. Spotted in the runway with designers Tory Burch, Coach, Jonathan Simkhai and many more showcasing a range of different styles available to suit any fashionista’s taste. Flats go beyond casual style and can be an elevated basic staple.
