The Met Gala 2025: Celebrities Dressed By Louis Vuitton

As the official sponsor of Superfine: Tailoring Black Style—the Spring 2025 exhibition from The Costume Institute at The Met—Louis Vuitton celebrates the legacy of Black fashion and dandyism.

Under Pharrell Williams’ creative direction, the House brought the exhibition’s theme to the Met Gala red carpet, dressing stars like Zendaya, Lisa, Future, Doechii, and Pusha-T in custom looks that reimagine classic menswear through the lens of contemporary Black style. Here, we unveil the 10 looks by Louis Vuitton that captured the essence of the 2025 Met Gala.

Pharrell Williams

As the current creative director of Louis Vuitton, Pharrell Williams arrived at the 2025 Met Gala in a bespoke ensemble that perfectly captured his signature fusion of elegance and edge. His look featured a cropped double-breasted evening jacket, entirely hand-crafted from interlaced white pearls in two sizes to mimic a pinstriped texture—an intricate nod to both couture craftsmanship as well as the refined spirit of Black dandyism. Furthermore, the jacket was paired with flared black wool trousers, a Sea Island cotton shirt, and a black silk tie.

In addition, Pharrell previewed the upcoming Spring-Summer 2026 LV Jazz derbies—sleek black leather shoes with a flat dandy toe and mirrored soles. Completing the look was a standout accessory: the Speedy P9 Bandoulière 20 evening bag, rendered in burgundy crocodile leather and finished with an aged gold Millionaire chain.

The ensemble embodied the LVERS ideology at the heart of Pharrell’s vision for Louis Vuitton: refined fashion as a means of self-expression, uplift, and cultural storytelling.

Doechii

Rapper and style icon Doechii turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala in a custom look that not only reimagines the flamboyant elegance of 18th-century Afro-Caribbean fencer but also the fashion figure Julius Soubise through a modern lens.

Her tailored tailcoat and matching waistcoat, cut in light grey-blue Louis Vuitton Monogram wool and finished with pearl-encrusted buttons, were layered over a crisp white dress shirt and tailored shorts in the iconic Damier Azur motif. A burgundy silk bow and socks brought regal contrast, while LV Checker Mary-Janes in rich burgundy leather grounded the look with a dash of eccentric charm.

Tying it all together: a petite Speedy P9 Bandoulière 10 evening bag, rendered in supple leather and hand-embroidered with micro-beads in the Damier Azur pattern, complete with gleaming ruthenium hardware.

Blending historical reference with Pharrell’s contemporary tailoring, Doechii’s look offered a powerful statement on style, identity, and cultural lineage.

Her single-breasted white tuxedo—crafted from matte silk and radzimir—featured flared trousers as well as a matching waistcoat, worn over a silk shirt and wide necktie. A wide-brimmed floppy felt hat added a dramatic touch, nodding to the signature style of Black female music icons of the 1970s.

In addition, she carried a pearl-encrusted Speedy P9 Bandoulière 10 bag with silver leather accents and a pearl chain—embodying Pharrell’s vision of dandy elegance with a modern twist.

The look featured a floor-length black silk shantung coat with crystal-encrusted buttons, worn over a boned basque jacket—crafted from black lace embroidered with a Henry Taylor artwork layered with the Louis Vuitton Flower Monogram. Beneath it, a corseted body and Monogram tights added textural contrast and precision detailing.

The finishing touch: a Speedy P9 Bandoulière 20 evening bag in supple black leather, hand-embellished with pearls and a pearl chain, echoing the dandy elegance central to Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton vision.

The rapper’s ensemble featured a tailored track jacket and pleated, flared trousers in grey Prince of Wales bouclé jacquard, accented with burgundy threads and embellished all over with hand-embroidered crystals and red beads.

Layered with a crisp white shirt, black silk tie, leather driving gloves, and LV Clash sunglasses, the look elevated sportswear into refined territory. In addition, Future wore LV ButterSoft Foot Sneakers in black crocodile leather, and carried a Speedy P9 Bandoulière 40 bag in supple black leather, hand-embroidered with pearls, crystals, and finished with a sleek black metal chain.

The look captured Pharrell’s signature approach at Louis Vuitton—where dandyism meets the codes of modern street style in a rich dialogue of craftsmanship and culture.

Pusha-T

Pusha-T brought elevated elegance to the 2025 Met Gala in a bespoke suit, featuring a double-breasted blazer and flared trousers, tailored in burgundy pinstriped wool jacquard, therefore reimagining a dandy classic with modern luxury.

The suit featured a raised texture that gave dimension to the pinstripe, while a shoulder panel shimmered with hand-embroidered crystals in a fading, raindrop-inspired pattern—what Pharrell affectionately calls “toppings.” Pearl-encrusted buttons and a burgundy silk necktie completed the rich detailing, worn over a crisp white poplin shirt.

Finishing the look: black leather LV Oxford brogues accented with metal studs, adding a sharp, subcultural edge to a silhouette rooted in heritage as well as craftsmanship.

Malcom Washington

Malcolm Washington redefined classic eveningwear at the 2025 Met Gala in a custom sleek, double-breasted smoking jacket and flared trousers. They were tailored in rich black Italian wool, elevated with satin lapels and pearl-encrusted buttons—a subtle nod to the designer’s dandy aesthetic.

Styled with a white sea island cotton shirt and black silk necktie, the look balanced timeless formality with a contemporary twist. In addition, Washington wore LV Bubble loafers in polished black leather, subverting tradition with ease and sophistication.

The look paid homage to the tuxedo’s transatlantic roots—British tailoring refined through the lens of American high society—and reimagined it with the flair and precision that define Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton menswear.

Sabrina Carpenter brought theatrical elegance to the 2025 Met Gala in a bespoke ensemble featuring a corseted body and elongated tailcoat, which was styled like a piano jacket—with a dramatic train, all tailored in burgundy pinstriped wool jacquard with crystal buttons and raised texture.

In addition, a crisp, high starched collar added a sharp, regal touch, nodding to both dandy tradition and 1980s rock grandeur. The look was paired with a structured Mini Trunk evening bag in matching burgundy leather, hand-embroidered with crystal pinstripes to mirror the tailoring.

Fusing Savile Row precision with Parisian couture, Carpenter’s silhouette evoked the flair of Jazz Age dandies as well as the swagger of vintage showmen—quintessential Pharrell, reimagining tradition with style and soul.

Jeremy Allen White

Jeremy Allen White embraced timeless elegance at the 2025 Met Gala in a custom three-piece suit. Tailored in fine pinstriped wool jacquard, the sleek ensemble featured a single-breasted jacket, matching waistcoat, as well as flared trousers—cut in Pharrell’s signature sculpted silhouette.

Styled with a crisp sea island cotton shirt, black silk tie, and black LV Bubble loafers, the look modernized early 20th-century dandyism with understated confidence. In addition, pearl-encrusted buttons on the jacket and cuffs added a discreet touch of opulence.

Channeling the history of the pinstripe—from British banking halls to American jazz clubs—White’s look therefore exemplified Pharrell’s refined, minimal approach to sartorial storytelling at Louis Vuitton.

Henry Taylor

American artist Henry Taylor brought his signature style to the 2025 Met Gala. The custom ensemble featured a Prince of Wales jacquard over-shirt, black double-pleated trousers, as well as a white poplin shirt hand-embroidered with one of his own artworks—embellished with pearl details. A matching trilby hat and black LV Bubble loafers completed the look.

Additionally, Taylor carried a Speedy P9 Bandoulière 20 evening bag in supple brown leather, also embroidered with his artwork and finished with VVN trimmings and an aged-gold chain.

Consequently, the look honored Taylor’s creative influence while reflecting Pharrell’s vision of contemporary dandyism—merging the precision of fine tailoring with the soul of personal storytelling. The embroidered motif, drawn from Taylor’s portraits of people close to him, first appeared in Pharrell’s Spring-Summer 2024 debut for Louis Vuitton and continues to echo across the House’s evolving narrative.
