As MFW 2025 comes to an end, I am excited to introduce our fresh Milan Fashion Week Beauty Report, keeping you ahead of the curve with the latest makeup trends for the upcoming season.
Makeup artists have reimagined the natural beauty trends of 2024, adding fresh twists while maintaining an effortless aesthetic. Bold makeup looks are kept to a minimum—stylists encourage choosing either a statement lip or a striking eye look, but not both. Notable changes can be seen in blush and lipstick color palettes.
Let’s take a closer look at the models on the runway to understand how makeup artists are shaping the beauty trends for Spring 2025.
Bold Lips in Different Colours from Dsquared2
This extravagant show opens our Milan Fashion Week Beauty Report. Dsquared2 took an opposite direction compared to other designers this season by bringing back bold red lip shades paired with smoky eyeliner and black shadows. This daring look is for the brave, as neutrals are the dominant trend this season. Opting for bold lips and dramatic eyes will not only make a statement but also highlight your features, creating a confident appearance.

Bold Winged Black Shadows from Jil Sander
Jil Sander showed us a new way of creating a bold wing on the eyes. Models wore coal-black shadows instead of liners, giving a smokier look rather than defined wings, enhancing the eye color. Choose this look for nights out and parties, as bold eyes won’t be relevant for daytime looks this season.

Classic and Natural from Fendi
A classic look is reimagined by Fendi. Models rocked the runway with short winged liner paired with nude or slightly coral-colored lipsticks. If you plan to repeat this look, take a note that it should be worn with a minimum or no contouring. In addition, try to use a minimum or no blush at all, leaving a completely nude face base for the eyeliner to stand out. Choose a medium to full coverage dewy foundation to conceal all imperfections and add a natural shine to your skin.

Boyfriend Blush paired with a Nude Face from Missoni and Max Mara
Boyfriend blush in different colors is back on the runway. This blushing technique makes your face look more youthful and natural. Just place the blush on the apples of your cheeks instead of right above your contour placement. This won’t elongate your face but will make it look more round or heart-shaped. This is the effect we are aiming for! Combine the blush with only a concealer or foundation. Choose fluid or light formulas with a more matte finish. Try to recreate the most natural, flawless face look possible to be the best fashionista in town!

Corals from Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci
If last season and this winter baby pink was the trend, with everyone wearing it on their lips or cheeks, now it’s time to embrace coral tones for Summer and Fall 2025. Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci continue to use a sculpting blushing technique with nearly invisible contouring. Coral blush tones are paired with similar-colored lips, creating a natural and refreshing effect. This look is a balance between the bare-face trend and bright color choices. Orangey corals will make you look more refreshed and healthy. Additionally, oranges and corals complement more skin tones compared to baby pink or cooler pink shades. Let’s leave cold undertones behind in Winter 2024!

Dark Lips from Versace
Versace and Pat McGrath introduced bold lips with neutral eyes back in the Fall 2024 Fashion Week season. During Spring 2025, warm brows with dark liners will be the most sought-after looks. Don’t be afraid to use dark colors during warmer weather, as this contrast is something we are trying to achieve this season. Dark brown lips can be paired with any outfit and will make you look more put-together and high-fashion during sunny days. Avoid using cold or grayish-colored lipsticks and instead choose orangey and red-brown undertones.
