A skincare routine is nothing without a good cleanser. It’s nothing without a cleanser, in general. It’s the product that begins your routine and clears the way for every product that follows.
Of course, when it comes to skincare, Glossier is always here to provide. In fact, they have just added a new cleanser to their skincare range – Cleanser Concentrate.
The Cleanser Concentrate (£18.00) is the brand’s second face wash since the arrival of their cult Milky Jelly Cleanser, which took the skincare world by storm in 2016.
Described as “Glossier’s second hero face wash” by the brand themself, this new addition to the Glossier family is one that has been in the works for some time.
Back in 2015, in the midst of wanting to create the ultimate cleanser, Glossier reached out to their intended audience. They asked, “What’s your dream face wash?”. The answer was split. Whilst some opted for a gentle, makeup removing cleanser, others longed for a deep-pore cleanser, like Cleanser Concentrate.

What’s in the cleanser?
The highly concentrated cleanser aims to exfoliate the skin, clarify and re-energize, all in 60 seconds. Cleanser Concentrate is supercharged full of a whole lot of plant goodness.
Glossier’s newest product includes a range of gentle exfoliators such as, grape extract, lactic acid and malic acid. These ingredients help to remove a build-up of dead skin, which is great for acne-prone skin. Similarly, niacinamide helps to visibly refine pores meaning you might just need a microscope to see your pores after using the Cleanser Concentrate.
Soothing ingredients like chamomile flower water and antioxidant-packed passionfruit extract also help to add and maintain moisture – making the cleanser perfect for dry skin as well.
How to use:
Simply massage one to two pumps into wet skin for just 60 seconds. Yes, 60 seconds is all you ever need for a cleanser and its ingredients to work it’s magic. Then, rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Glossier recommend that since it is an exfoliating cleanser, that it is best to not overdo it. As over-exfoliating can cause irritation and inflammation, when introducing an exfoliating cleanser into your routine, start with one cleanse a day. If you have dry skin, Glossier suggest rotating in their latest cleanser a few times a week and opting for the Milky Jelly Cleanser as your daily face wash. It’s all about balance.

Results and reviews:
From acne prone to dry skin, many Glossier fans have shared their love for this new cleanser. Many expressed their like for the cleansers subtle, natural scent, which derives from the chamomile flower water.
Others stated that the cleanser is “amazing and non-stripping” and how it “cleared my acne in 2 weeks!”
As well as that, how good it feels on the skin. Glossier opted for a soft, frothy, smooth foam packed with amino acid surfactants (fatty acids) as opposed to sulfates. This enables the product and formula to really work on the skin instead of just rinsing down the drain.
In fact, 94% of users who took part in a 4 week at home trial said that their skin felt smoother. Furthermore, 85% said that their skin looked more renewed whilst 90% stated their skin felt more purified.
Anything else to know about Glossier’s newest product?
Yes! The Cleanser Concentrate is vegan and cruelty free but what’s more is that the packaging is made of recycled glass. So, it’s just an all-rounder to be honest.
