As someone who solely wears all black, Reverie immediately caught my eye. They’re a brand based around the dark feminine mystique – where the darkness meets elegance in their words – and currently, they host an ensemble of hand-crafted accessories for the people who don’t get swayed by trends.
Who is Reverie?
Reverie, established in 2023 by two young women, is a clothing brand on a mission to celebrate the dark and mysterious side of femininity. Their design follows inspirations of the embodying the enigmatic energy of women but also the future with its limitless potential.
The silhouettes capture that futuristic feel, re-imagining current trends in hand-crafted pieces to ensure the dark feminine energy reigns throughout. For those all about individuality, knowing each piece is crafted by hand in Georgia and at a small scale, Reverie serves itself as the ideal brand for those unafraid of standing out. With alternative subcultures quickly becoming commodified into cheap pieces, brands like these are vital to keep the ethos of being alternative alive.
Fall/Winter 25 Collection
Their fall-winter collection is steeped in emo, punk and gothic subculture inspiration – from the safety pins to the spikes, even the metal binder rings. It’s reminiscent of the crafty and DIY nature of punk looks, recreated to be more refined and polished edge. It’s more curated, the details placed with intentionality and care.
The collection spans coats to bags, every piece becoming its own statement. While the brand offers mood boards on how to style the collection as a whole, one could easily just buy the piece that speaks to them to most as they stand on their own individually. The Aurora coat in particular catches my eye the most – reminiscent of the Matrix coats but re-imagined to be far more sophisticated and feminine. It’s padded at the shoulders for that bold look and pleasantly cinched at the waist, creating a memorable silhouette as one struts by. It’s one of those pieces that command attention.
The collection stands on its own with a solid punk-futuristic feel to it all. While the pieces I’ve particularly been drawn to are steeped in black, there are plenty of options for the colour-loving folk, – bright reds and some pastel pinks. Although a collection for the colder weather, these colours may come in handy for a certain event based around love.
