We have been a fan of Stella Jean since attending her Milan Fashion Weeks show before the plandemic. It is refreshing to see a woman of colour at the forefront of a fashion revolution. When we got the news in our in box about the #Desigual X Stella Jean Limited Edition Fashion Collaboration, it gave us carnival vibes and goosebumps. Then Tamu came up in our feed wearing the collection, island girl styled out!
#Desigual X StellaJean The Limited Edition
In the words of one of their brand embassadors Tamu Mcpherson
I am so happy share the launch of the limited edition @desigual x @stellajean_sj_ collection. Stella is an incredible force in fashion who is paving the way and creating platforms for designers of color and amplifying the stories of marginalized cultures. It is an honor to interpret these pieces from the capsule. #desigualxstellajean

The behind this epic collaboration Stella Jean is not only a fashion designer, she is also a builder of bridges, and irreversible woman’s style. This is how the designer Stella Jean, who created the new Desigual capsule collection, defines herself. Stella’s story speaks of identity, awareness and commitment, that is to say values that also belong to the essence of Desigual.
#Desigual X StellaJean
The star print of this capsule is inspired by the wax fabrics that belong to Jean’s story, given the African roots of his Haitian mother. In Stella’s hands, tradition is deconstructed, graphics turn to abstraction and forms go so far as to become more organic. The star garment of the collection was created precisely to ensure that this print expresses all its strength. It is a dress (top left) tied at the neckline, with a ruffled skirt and a ribbon at the waist. She exudes good vibes and her combination of purple, yellow and red with two shades of blue is irresistible.
In their campaign shot by Daniel Jackson, they paired this dress with three stunning accessories from the same #DesigualXStellaJean collection. It is an XXL hat in a delicate pink colour, sandals with fringes in vibrant red raffia and a braided bag that mixes rope, burlap, bamboo… This is the DNA of Stella paired with the high-street label which makes Stella accessible to the masses. Separately, each element is unique, but together they accentuate the strength of the dress and evoke the multicultural inspiration latent throughout the collection giving us Carribean Girl Swag.
