Caroline Zimbalist F/W ’26 Collection NYFW Review

On February 12th at the L’Space Gallery in New York, Caroline Zimbalist unveiled her fall/winter ’26 collection. Known for her use of sustainable biomaterials, Zimbalist continues to use these materials in her latest collection while blending traditional garment construction, as the press kit explains. Each garment comes together as one, where experimentation meets timelessness.

Zimbalist showcased her work in the form of a presentation, each model posing amongst an audience, almost becoming the garment entirely. Audiences captivated by the collection seemed transported into another world. The collection was a work of art that one could admire for hours, as if in a museum.

The Details

The garments, with saturated colors and hand-drawn prints with bio-sculptural accessories, immersing oneself into the world of nature, reminiscing about childlike play. Zimbalist utilizes natural fibers from cottons to silks, creating layers that resemble petals with hints of bloom motifs within the collection, as the press kit describes.

The Accessories

From jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, and pants, the collection brings a hint of spring to winter, while embodying the nature that surrounds oneself during the wintertime. Though what stood out the most throughout the collection was its accessories, which alone was a statement in itself. From earrings, brooches, headpieces, rings, and necklaces, each piece looked like stained glass, though made from biomaterials.

My Review

I thought the collection was a work of art. The collection perfectly captures imperfections with parts of the garments asymmetrical with hints of rough, raw edges. It reminded me of flowers and how they are each different, imperfect, and beautiful in their own way. The garments balance delicacy with fluidity seamlessly, as if each model walked outside amongst nature and imprinted their findings onto their garments.
