The British Fashion Council (BFC) has officially announced the nominees for The Fashion Awards 2025 presented by Pandora. A highly anticipated evening that not only celebrates the cultural power of fashion but also serves as a vital fundraiser for the BFC Foundation. The industry’s biggest night is set to light up the iconic Royal Albert Hall on Monday, December 1st.
The suspense is officially over as the BFC unveils the designers vying for fashion’s most coveted accolades. This year’s shortlist was meticulously curated by a distinguished jury of 19 leading critics, editors, and buyers. They have ensured a selection that reflects the highest standards of creativity and global impact. These influential figures have set the stage for a spectacular show.
So here’s who’s up for a chance to take home a trophy:
Designer of the Year
For the prestigious Designer of the Year award, which recognises a designer whose groundbreaking collections have made a global impact.
The finalists include Glenn Martens for his innovative work at Diesel and Maison Margiela. Alongside, Jonathan Anderson, celebrated for his dual roles at DIOR and his own label, JW Anderson. They are joined by the genre-defying Martine Rose, the ever-influential Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu, and the master of subversive elegance, Rick Owens. Rounding out the category is the boundary-breaking Willy Chavarria.
British Womenswear Designer of the Year
An award celebrating the British womenswear designer who has made a global splash with their innovative and creative work, shaping the international landscape.
The nominees include: Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault for KNWLS, who continue to redefine modern femininity. Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena for Chopova Lowena are also nominated for their distinctive, folkloric-inspired designs. The list is completed by the romantic classicism of Erdem Moralıoğlu for ERDEM, the powerful legacy of Sarah Burton for Givenchy. Lastly, the timeless artistry of Simone Rocha.
British Menswear Designer of the Year
Who is leading the charge in menswear right now? This award spotlights a British designer whose creative designs have not only captivated audiences but also made a significant mark on the industry.
The nominees are Craig Green, known for his sculptural and conceptual designs. Foday Dumbuya for his culturally rich work at LABRUM London. The list also includes Grace Wales Bonner for Wales Bonner, who consistently merges European heritage with an Afro-Atlantic perspective. The visionary Kiko Kostadinov. The culturally conscious Nicholas Daley. Finally, the innovative duo of Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt for STEFAN COOKE.
Vanguard Award
This is a new and exciting award that recognises a designer at the forefront of a new wave in British fashion, showcasing a new level of visionary creativity and influence. The nominees are: Aaron Esh for AARON ESH, the dreamlike artistry of Dilara Fındıkoğlu. Next, the dynamic and innovative Feben, the distinctive work of Steve O Smith, the culturally resonant designs of Tolu Coker. And finally, the rising star Torishéju Dumi for TORISHÉJU.
