Retrofête F/W 2024 Runway Report: Mob Wife & Mob Girlfriend

Retrofête Took Over The Plaza Hotel for Its Glitzy, 80s- Boss Lady-themed Fall 2024 Runway Show during New York Fashion Week. Retrofête Fall Winter 2024 Runway Report sent Mob Wives and Boss Ladies and Party Girls toe down the runway. The Plaza Hotel reminded us of afternoon Tea and being dressed up to the nines.

Retrofête Fall Winter 2024

You probably already know Retrofête’s party-ready designs (worn by everyone from Taylor Swift to Beyoncé). Still, the New York-based brand co-founded by Aviad Klin and Ohad Seroya makes New York Fashion Week hotter each season. Constantly proving the glamour and spirit of decades past.

The New York-based label takes its name from a melding of synonyms for “vintage” and “party.” Enlivened with “more-is-more” energy, Retrofête blurs the line between day and night, creating a life-of-the-party aesthetic within each design. The luminosity of the sequins, modern meets vintage denim and sophisticated silk silhouettes—each detail elevates a feeling of nostalgia with a fashion-forward take on confident and sexy styles.

Retrofête is all about glitz and glamour. So naturally, the brand’s Fall 2024 runway show was held at the pinnacle of New York City luxury: The Plaza.

We attendees filled the ballroom, sipping on martinis as we awaited the party.

The room was filled with celebrities, editors, and influencers. Red mood lighting took over the space as silhouettes were illuminated on the walls like a burlesque show.

Retrofête F/W 2024 Runway Report: Mob Wife
It is a collection about a woman who navigates between a professional and a femme fatale

The Fall 2024 collection by Retrofête is centred around the journey of the creative director’s childhood exploration of femininity. Drawing inspiration from powerful women in his life, the collection celebrates the essence of the Alpha Woman—confident, alluring, and unapologetically glamorous.

The ’80s were reimagined with a contemporary twist, unveiling a woman of all ages who navigates between her professional and a femme fatale who likes the nightlife or a private members club.

This look is so Bronx Tale 2024. Retrofête Mob Girlfriend wear.

Retrofête FW/24: Mob Wife & Mob Girlfriend

By day, the Retrofête Woman supervises attention in tailored suiting with power and sophistication. The workwear elements comprise cinched blazer dresses, banker pinstripes, and coordinated sets with exaggerated shoulders and cummerbund-inspired belt detailing. The addition of bows and colour-blocking adds femininity. Each look is crafted to transition from the boardroom to a date night, reflecting the dynamic lifestyle of the modern woman who refuses to compromise.

As night falls, the Retrofête Woman embraces her seductive side, captivating attention with sultry red dresses, lace garters, and corset bodices inline with a Mob Girlfriend’s attire. Uncovering her desires, she is bold and fearless, trading power suits for daring silhouettes. The collection consists of deep, moody hues of cherry and cabernet juxtaposed with neutral tones.

My favourite piece, given the Diahann Carroll Dynasty drama.
