The Lowry Hotel re-invented its iconic riverside destination; leisure, dining and drinking offer and undertook an ambitious seven-figure refurbishment. We were absolutely astonished, when we recently visited The River Restaurant. It looks more like an art gallery, were they serve five star food.
Completed late September 2019, the five-star renovation seen entire redesign of the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Retaining the incredible, unique riverside views and terrace and the Lowry’s unwavering commitment to service, the new lounge bar and restaurant features soft hues, a new layout and bespoke furnishings.
The new look was created by renowned interior designers, Goddard Littlefair, who also designed the hotel’s newly refurbished Presidential Suite and lobby areas which have a similar fluid and sophisticated look and feel.
The River Restaurant promises a dynamic menu to inspire, excite and intrigue. Whether its riverside views or private intimate dining you’re seeking, Executive Head Chef Dave Ashton is composing a mix of dishes heavily featuring locally sourced produce to be enjoyed alongside the hotel’s fine wines from world-famous vineyards. The River Restaurant also continues to offer its popular Sunday lunch and daily afternoon tea in the newly imagined surroundings.
The food not only tasted delicious, but The Wild Sea Bass and Rib-Eye Steak were served in the truly artistic way.
Dessert
And the dessert made Matylda eat it with her eyes. Not only it looked spectacular, but it tasted heavenly. And what’s more, it was made suitable for a child, as normally it comes with some alcohol. Our lovely waitress Teresa, who looked after us, made sure, that our little girl was treated like a real princess. It was truly touching.
Adult desserts were equally delicious, and again prepared with the finest details. The sticky date cake was absolutely mouth watering, as was the selection of British cheese with sweet plum chutney.
The River Restaurant offers everything one might look in the top restaurant, delicious food, artistic decor and absolutely impeccable customer service. We will definitely come back there.
