Electimuss London is celebrated for its luxurious fragrances, drawing inspiration from Ancient Rome’s rich heritage of exploration, philosophical advancements, music, and intellectual rigour. During the 2020 lockdown, Electimuss surged in popularity, captivating the perfume world. Jason Collison, Co-Founder, remarked:
“Just like red lipstick sales increased during World War II, we saw a significant interest from people seeking luxury through scent while being confined indoors.”
True to its name, meaning “to choose the best,” Electimuss invited us to an exclusive launch event at the prestigious Four Seasons Trinity Square. In celebration of their new scent, Spice D’Arno, part of the new Explorer Collection, we were welcomed to the Penthouse suite with a breathtaking 360-degree view of London. Guests enjoyed bespoke cocktails and canapés before hearing from Master Perfumer Celine Barel whom shared insights into her creative process in developing this exquisite new fragrance.
“The Starting point for Spice D’Arno is the city of Florence. through which the Arno river flows. Particularly inspired by this city and it’s rich history, I wanted to work with one of its emblems, a full-grain leather, soft and velvety, which I sublimated by combining it with mystical resins and balsams like myrrh, alibamum, labdanum and gurjun. Another wink to Florence is the hint of iris, with which I added a subliminal floral facet to the fragrance. As an allegory of the Arno River, I played on the subtle balance between fresh spices like pink pepper, cardamom and warm spices like saffron and vanilla, remnants of the treasures once transported on this eternal river. Finally, to seal the fragrance’s long lastingness, I added a touch of oud, for an elegant, powerful trail.”
Understanding the process of developing a bespoke scent compared to drugstore fragrances is a beautiful art form.
Electimuss can be found on the Harrod’s London Perfume Salon on the 6th floor and within more global boutiques.
