London Fashion Week and The City (FWTC) is an international playground for emerging designers, giving new talent a platform to showcase their collections across the fashion capitals of London, New York and Paris.

Kicking off the SS27 season in London, FWTC provocatively chose St John’s Wood Church as the setting for its Designer Spotlight Show. With the atmosphere heightened by the scent of incense and the pulse of deep house, the show unfolded with an unmistakable sense of tension.

The choice of venue added another layer to the presentation. Against the backdrop of historic architecture and traditional religious surroundings, the contemporary collections created an intriguing contrast. The setting shifted the experience away from a conventional runway show, making the clothes feel part of a wider conversation between heritage, modernity and self-expression.

Inside the historic place of worship, runway looks from emerging talent at NIF Global and the London School of Trends appeared alongside collections from established designers. The diverse cohort successfully fused elements of their cultural heritage with contemporary Western silhouettes, creating a dialogue between fashion, identity and culture.

We saw catwalk looks from: WDIF, NROYCE Allure, Maison Stylistica, Eighth Hour, MAHIMANT, beme, Ispahan by MB, and Vigilantia Praesdium Pvt Ltd.

From haute couture and sharply tailored suits to athleisure, the collections demonstrated the breadth of emerging design talent on display. This show was focused on bringing different approaches to contemporary fashion.
