An Evening of Celebration: 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards

On November 3, 2025, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) gathered to celebrate the winners and honorees of the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, presented by Amazon Fashion, at the American Museum of Natural History, as explained in a press kit.

The evening was filled with glamour and fashion, featuring designers such as Michael Kors and Tory Burch, as well as celebrities like Dove Cameron and Jennifer Lawrence in attendance. Thom Browne, CFDA’s chairman, welcomed honorees, nominees, and guests, while Teyana Taylor acted as the host of the evening.

Womenswear & Menswear Designer Awards

It was announced that Ralph Lauren was named American Womenswear Designer of the Year, which was presented by Naomi Watts, while Thom Browne was named American Menswear Designer of the Year, which was presented by Mark Ronson, Dao-Yi Chow, and Maxwell Osborne.

Accessory & Google Shopping Awards

Sister duo Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen, founders of The Row, were awarded American Accessory Designer of the Year, presented by Benito Skinner and Jennifer Fisher. Addison Rae and Christopher John Rogers took the stage to present the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year award to Ashlyn Park, the designer behind the brand Ashlyn.

Media & Positive Change Awards

Anna Wintour crowned A$AP Rocky as Fashion Icon, while Sara Moonves was presented with the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard by Jennifer Lawrence. Donatella Versace was honored with the Positive Change Award presented by Amber Valletta and Ariana DeBose.

Founder’s & Innovation Award

Cynthia Rowley was recognized with the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert by Julianne Moore. Ava DuVernay handed the Innovation Award, which was presented by Amazon Fashion, to Jerry Lorenzo, founder of Fear of God.

Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute & International Award

Andre Walker was honored with the Isabel Toledo Board of Directors’ Tribute by Nicole Phelps, while Naomi Campbell bestowed the International Award to Pieter Mulier, founder of Alaia. Ralph Rucci received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award from Thom Browne.

The End of the Evening

The evening was marked by a breathtaking performance from Olivia Dean, who sang her song, “So Easy (To Fall in Love)”, and a film by Nian Fish, presented by Leslie Bibb, which highlighted American fashion moments from the past year.

The CFDA Fashion Awards is an evening to remember, with designers coming together to celebrate each other’s achievements, and it allows us to remember that fashion is also about supporting one another.
