At the 2025 Met Gala, themed “Tailored for You” in celebration of the Costume Institute’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition, numerous celebrities showcased their interpretations of Black dandyism and tailored fashion.
Here, we unveil the top 10 women’s looks that stole the spotlight and captured the essence of the 2025 Met Gala.
1. Laura Harrier in Gap Studio
Laura Harrier captivated in a custom ensemble by Zac Posen for Gap Studio, an ethereal take on the night’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The look paid homage to classic tailoring with a modern twist, featuring cream coloured flared pants as well as exaggerated sleeves with structured lines and intricate detailing. In addition, the look completed with BUCCELLATI jewellery, brought this year’s theme “Tailored for You” to life.

2. Coco Jones in Manish Malhotra
Coco Jones embraced the theme with a sharp, tailored outfit consisting of a low-cut cream-coloured suit jacket, complete with lace embroidery and pearls. Jones’ ensemble showcased floral inspiration, with a bevy of botanicals cascading down the singer’s coat as well as trousers with precise bead-work in shades of silver, white and cream.

Her look, consisting of a tailored tailcoat and matching waistcoat, cut in light grey-blue Louis Vuitton Monogram wool and finished with pearl-encrusted buttons, were layered over a crisp white dress shirt and tailored shorts in the iconic Damier Azur motif. In addition, a burgundy silk bow and socks brought regal contrast, while LV Checker Mary-Janes in rich burgundy leather grounded the look with a dash of eccentric charm.

5. Cynthia Erivo in Givenchy
Cynthia Erivo dazzled in a sculptural custom look from Givenchy, by the house’s creative director Sarah Burton. The Wicked star embraced the theme with a corset-style bodice covered in silver gems and ruby-red pieces, showcasing her unique style and fashion-forward approach. In addition, Erivo’s dress featured a billowing tulle skirt that was open in the front, revealing the actor’s lace-up platform heels, which were adorned with some matching red gems.

6. Rihanna in Marc Jacobs
Rihanna stole the spotlight in a look by Marc Jacobs, revealing her third pregnancy with rapper A$AP Rocky, who was also one of the stylish co-chairs of this year’s Met Gala. The ensemble featured a black cropped woolen jacket, a wool bustier bodysuit, a black pinstripe wool tailored skirt with a bustle, a polka dot satin cravat, as well as ankle chain pumps. In addition, the look was completed with a hat Jacobs created in collaboration with Stephen Jones.

7. Teyana Taylor in Marc Jacobs
