L’Enchanteur NYFW SS26: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Last October, twin sisters Dynasty and Soull Ogun captivated the fashion world. They won the prestigious 2024 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.

Their friend, Crystal Anderson, perfectly described them. “Two of the most magical people I know,” she said.

This week, the L’Enchanteur designers proved it again. They spun a tale for their Spring-Summer 2026 collection. It was their first-ever ready-to-wear runway show. And it was pure enchantment.

L’Enchanteur New York Fashion Week

L’Enchanteur has long been known for its mystical jewellery. Fine metals, gems, and crystals define their brand. But this season, clothing took centre stage. The Ogun sisters celebrated their milestone. An intimate dinner at Maison Close kicked off the week. Friends and supporters gathered. Crystal Anderson, Kiesh Herman, Raisa Flowers, and Mickalene Thomas were all there.

Dynasty shared their fresh approach. “Moving in the opposite direction gives a fresh look,” she explained. The show took place on day one of NYFW. Brooklyn hosted the grand event. Inspiration came from classic literature. Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” fueled the vision. Paul Gilroy’s “The Black Atlantic” also shaped the theme.

More than just clothes

The collection explored ocean mysteries. It connected cultures through water. Soull noted this concept’s long journey. They have explored it since 2016. A debut runway show felt like the ideal format. Harpist Cassie Watson Francillon set the mood. Models then graced the runway.

Crafted with intention.

Cotton separates burst with colourful fish prints. Billowy khaki pieces featured octopus bibs. Deconstructed plaid looks made a statement. Ruffled collars evoked maritime themes. Tentacle-like hems swayed with movement. Sailor pants completed the aquatic story. Fin-shaped details flapped on shirts. They also adorned pant seams.

A global textile journey.

Many fabrics were sourced in Dominica. Dynasty visited the island in 2022. Their maternal grandfather was a fisherman there. Their late mother was also born there. “We used actual copper,” Dynasty revealed. Copper offers healing properties. Linen, with its high vibration, also appeared.

Spring 2026 also introduced footwear. L’Enchanteur now officially offers shoes. The sisters often seek out artisans. Last year, they visited Nigeria. They found shoemakers near their father’s home. Leather sandals, flip-flops, and loafers emerged. These Lagos-made shoes walked the runway. New glass-blown handbags also debuted.

Legacy and L’Enchanteur: Brooklyn’s Own Shine Bright

Soull and Dynasty Ogun were born in Brooklyn. They grew up surrounded by diverse cultures. Their Nigerian and Dominican heritage inspires them. NYC’s vibrant energy fuels its creativity. Both are autodidactic artisans. Soull masters metalwork and jewellery. Dynasty excels in textiles and garments.

A powerful creative force

In 2017, they merged their talents. L’Enchanteur was born. It quickly became a design powerhouse. Their ethereal designs captivate many. Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Erykah Badu wear their pieces. Ms. Lauryn Hill and Michelle Obama are fans too. Their work has graced major publications. Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar featured their “Hood Breakfast” collection. They won the 2023 Fashion Trust US Jewellery Design Award.

Is NYFW a hub for emerging designers?

Absolutely. I was born in Queens. Brooklyn raised me. It’s incredible to see designers like the Oguns succeed. Their journey from local roots to global fame inspires. They seamlessly blend African, Caribbean, and Brooklyn cultures. This unique mix truly shines on the runway.

The future of fashion is here.

L’Enchanteur isn’t just about fashion. It’s a creative incubator. Sciences, numerology, and myths inspire them. They create heirlooms. These pieces redefine spiritual connection. “Transform Your Lifestyle” is their motto. Dynasty and Soull push boundaries. They offer a new vision of design. Their mystic healing method resonates globally. The Spring-Summer 2026 collection proved its magic. It brought an enchanting underwater world to life.
