Susan Fang — Friday 18 September

Susan Fang is one of London’s most intriguing designers and has attracted significant attention during recent fashion weeks. Her work combines technical systems, manual skills and imaginative themes as a part of her creative output.

Her SS2026 collection showcased her intricate methodology. Imagining a society existing 3,000 years in the future, Fang translated this futuristic world into 3D-printed shapes, silhouettes produced by computers, small decorative glass pieces using her established manual construction methods. In a partnership with her husband, Orelio, she used digital simulations of air currents to shape computer generated forms. She then converted those virtual shapes into physical garments – but also included tactile elements like layered “air flowers”, feathers, beads and transparent textiles. These materials ensure the final collection maintained a connection to its manual labor.

Her recent projects continue to examine the relationship between technology and emotionality. In her AW2026 collection, displayed in Shanghai her home, she utilized historical styles alongside modern materials. Using light silk fabric, nylon netting, resin insects and 3D-printed shoes, a visual style characterized as existing outside of common terrestrial experiences was curated.

So what are we expecting for SS27?

We expect more experimentation, but hopefully not just for experimentation’s sake. Fang’s strength has always lied in making technology emotionally connect to the audience, over simply technical elements. We also expect sculptural silhouettes, intricate surface treatments and an increasingly sophisticated dialogue between digital design and traditional craftsmanship.

Ahluwalia — Saturday 19 September

Few London designers have developed such a distinct visual, creative, and culturally significant design language as Priya Ahluwalia.

Her SS2026 collection, named Affinity, explored love and intimacy through her combination of her Nigerian and Indian heritage. The collection drew upon her experience’s with Bollywood cinema, Motown, Indian miniature paintings and the Nigerian goddess, Oshun. Detailing such as draped silk, fringe, asymmetry and denim were used to express the contradictory feelings associated within romantic relationships – tension, vulnerability, romance and release.

However, in Ahluwalia’s AW2026 collection, they took that conversation somewhere more communal. Friendship became the central theme, and this was embodied through braided details, interlocking, and woven denim. The collection demonstrated Ahluwalia’s increasing ability to translate personal and cultural research into creative ingenuius.

This is particularly unique because Ahluwalia is a designer whose work rewards closer examination in order to appreciate her ingenuity. Her collections aren’t simply about beautiful clothes; they are constructed around narratives of her personal identity and hertigate.

Having personally examined Ahluwalia’s work academically when looking at factors affecting emerging fashion enterprises, this is one show I’m particularly excited to experience in person, as Ahluwalia has continued to rise above the crowd, securing their space as an influential fashion brand.

So what are we expecting for SS27?

For SS27, the question is where that narrative goes next. Ahluwalia has already displayed collections from romantic relationships to friendship and community. What other forms of connection could they explore next? Whatever the subject, we expect research-led storytelling, strong textile development and the collision of tailoring, sportswear and occasion dressing that has become central to the house.

Richard Quinn — Saturday 19 September

Quinn’s recent collections have historically focused on the art of occasion dressing (the practice of selecting and styling an outfit to match the specific formality, time, setting, and dress code of a notable event or social gathering). His AW2026 collection pushed that idea in a different way, contrasting the strictness of highly constructed gowns and corsetry with a futuristic fantasy setting. The result was a vision of “cosmic couture” with formal dressing reimagined for a world far beyond the traditional ballroom.

His SS2026 collection presented 44 highly constructed and embellished looks with a narrow colour palette: moving from black and white into red, fuchsia and pastel. Rather than moving away from glamour as newer trends suggested, Quinn has doubled down on it.

And that makes his SS27 show particularly exciting.

At a time when much of fashion is obsessed with the ‘clean girl aesthetic’, quiet luxury, and minimalism, Quinn continues to argue for fashion as spectacle of creativity and art. His collections remind us that getting dressed should be fun and important.

So what are we expecting for SS27?

We expect drama, elaborate construction and occasionwear pushed beyond convention, but perhaps Quinn may surprise us – continuing to question what modern glamour actually looks like.

McQueen — Sunday 20 September

Few names on the London schedule carry the same weight as McQueen.

This season is particularly special as Seán McGirr will present McQueen’s SS27 collection in London, noting the house’s return to the city. The British Fashion Council has marked the show as one of the key moments for this year’s September’s schedule.

McGirr’s tenure has been more difficult than those of other creative directors as the houses’ founder still remains one of fashion’s most influential figures.

Nevertheless, his recent collections suggest that the designer is becoming increasingly confident in that process of taking up this challenge. His AW2026 collection explored intimacy and voyeurism in a more psychologically driven form of glamour – while his Resort 2026 work drew on images of British aristocratic society and transformed them through sharp tailoring and a distinctly modern attitude.

More recently, McGirr’s Paris presentation for AW2026 was described by The Guardian as ‘one of his strongest collections to date’, with his respects to McQueen’s Widows of Culloden by accompanying them with new interpretations of tailoring and lace on the body.

This is homecoming for the brand.

So what are we expecting for SS27?

For SS27, expect a conversation between British identity, sensuality and the house’s archive—but the real thing to watch will be how far McGirr pushes his own voice and still retain his founder’s legacy.

Burberry — Monday 21 September

And then there is Burberry, fashionably late.

Closing this year’s London Fashion Week on Monday evening, Daniel Lee’s Burberry remains one of the most anticipated fashion shows.

Lee’s recent approach has been deliberately restless. For Spring/Summer 2026, he paid homage to British music culture and 1960s–70s references by incorporating shorter trenches, skinny tailoring, colourful leather, sequins and fringed accessories into the designs. The collection notably reduced the emphasis on the traditional Nova check and conventional trench coat by instead choosing to reinterpret Burberry’s codes through a more directional lens.

For Fall 2026, the mood shifted again. Lee delved into London’s nightlife through a show staged at Old Billingsgate, using Tower Bridge as part of the theatrical setting and bringing a darker, more nocturnal energy to the house, serving as a distinctive shift in the brands aesthetic posititoning.

That constant evolution makes Burberry one of the shows I’m most curious about.

Where does Lee take the house next?

The challenge is no longer proving that Burberry can be modernised. He has already demonstrated that. The question is whether these different cultural references can begin to form a more coherent long-term identity for the house.

With Burberry closing LFW, expect a major production, strong British references and—if Lee’s recent work is anything to go by—a familiar house code viewed through an unexpected lens.

The London shows on our radar

From Susan Fang’s fusion of technology and craft to Ahluwalia’s cultural storytelling, Richard Quinn’s maximalist glamour, McGirr’s ongoing reinvention of McQueen and Daniel Lee’s increasingly experimental Burberry, the common thread of this year’s LFW is  reinterpretation.

London has never been at its strongest when it attempts to imitate the rest of the fashion capitals. Its strength is its willingness to experiment.

And with several established British houses returning alongside emerging designers, SS27 could be a particularly interesting season for London to reaffirm exactly that.

For me, the excitement is not simply in seeing the clothes on the runway. It’s in seeing how these designers respond to where fashion is now—and, perhaps more importantly, where they believe it is going next.

Luxury Italian streetwear brand, Palm Angels and heritage boxing brand Everlast are entering the ring again. The duo is back partnering with Conor Benn to present their second collaboration, giving a worldwide preview of their upcoming collection. Following the brand’s success of their first collaboration which debuted in November 2025, for Benn’s ‘Fight of the Year’ win against Chris Eubank Jr.

The fight kit evolves from his previous year: “We kept the flames and fire but let something new rise from it to demonstrate that it’s not just about the fight it’s about what comes after” Alberto Furlan, artistic director of Palm Angels revealed.

Whats to Expect: Power, Control, and Swarovski

The fight kit design moves into a new dimension with a total black and gold palette to “reflect where my head is going into this fight. Palm Angels and Everlast get what I’m about” comments Conor Benn.

Created alongside fight wear specialist brand, Bespoke Boxing. The look is anchored by luxury fashion staples including printed paillettes, nappa leather and Swarovski crystals. This statement piece ensures a fashion spectacle on the much anticipated ringwalk. Carefully ensuring there won’t be a repeat of the infamous Deontay Wilder February 2020 loss whereby it was speculated his costume was to blame.

The Devil is in the Detail

Anyone aware of Conor ‘The Destroyer’ Benn knows the look would be incomplete without his signature flames. This year being reimagined as a symbol of intensity and transformation. Rising from the flames the Palm Angel palm tree, presenting a personal rebirth and new evolution in the brand’s identity.

But the best of the subtle details? Benn’s daughter’s name is featured across the back of the waistband. “My daughter’s name on the waistband? My children are my why. Simple as that” revealed Benn.

Outside the Ring: A FW26 Preview

The collaboration is proving to be more than just ‘in the ring’ fashion. With 2 core additional looks. The first, a custom studded double-breasted suit embellished with Benn’s monogram. More excitingly, the brands are giving us a sneak peek of their upcoming Fall/Winter 2026 collection. The second look reimagines the iconic Palm Angels Tracksuit seen during the official fight week press conference.

The Verdict

Whether you’re there for the knockouts or Swarovski crystals, Saturday night is essential viewing. For those looking to grab a piece of the action, the limited-edition is live at palmangels.com and FLANNELS.

Harris Reed Autumn Winter 2026

Who is Harris Reed?

Harris Reed is a name synonymous with fluidity. This designer, half-American and half-British, sparks conversation. Reed champions gender fluidity. Their brand DNA is “Romanticism Gone Nonbinary.” Growing up, Reed understood clothing’s power. It transforms and liberates. Their work confronts societal injustices. Fashion becomes a powerful tool. It celebrates the wearer’s authentic self.

A Symphony of Contrasts and Textures

Reed’s collections always explore contrast. Exaggerated and restricted silhouettes are key. This season, fabrics join this contrary world. Baroque jacquards meet intricate silk damasks. Moirés, lamés, and devorés add to the mix. Fringing and feathers create a commotion. Pattern and texture abound. Tactility truly drives this collection.

A blue silk damask jacket caught my eye. It featured an exaggerated collar. Gold quilted lurex jacquard added drama. A liquid silver dress shimmered. Velvet and feather panels enhanced its allure. For every opaque fabric, shine appeared. A corseted jacquard jacket paired with sheer georgette. Oversized sashes and bows are draped elegantly. Fuchsia and chartreuse moiré offset velvets. Damasks created a stunning juxtaposition.

Fromental Collaboration: Prints with Panache

Reed’s collaboration with Fromental continues. This luxury wall coverings brand is exceptional. This season introduces a new ‘Ocelot’ print. It stems from a hand-painted artwork. This print graces a rich duchess’s satin dress. Feather trim adds an opulent touch. Godets, panels, and linings feature it too.

The ‘Ambiguous Tiger’ print reappears. Blue and oxblood hues are stunning. A georgette dress showcases it beautifully. A silk dupion suit also features it. Bespoke devoré highlights this print. Lilac with mint and coral with chartreuse enchant.

Corsetry and Caging: Signature Elements Reimagined

Corsetry and caging are Reed’s signatures. A Chantilly lace corset extended fan-like. It rose from the waist. This curved high neckline often recurred. Corset shapes were wing-like. Some looped high above the shoulders. They framed the face beautifully.

A bias-cut georgette gown impressed. It sat beneath a grosgrain cage. This accentuated the hips and waist. A moiré lamé silver dress featured caging. It exposed and extended the hips and shoulders. This play between seen and obscured is constant. Crinoline caging, usually hidden, was exposed. Glimpses of skin showed through sheer patterns. Patchworked velvet devoré skirts revealed skin. Trousers also followed this theme.

Fluid Bridal: Love’s Celebration, Redefined

This season marks a debut: Fluid Bridal. Reed brings signature silhouettes to bridalwear. Four styles embrace ‘brides’ of all genders. A sheer embroidered lace dress appeared. It paired with flared trousers. A draped back top completed the look.

A duchess satin mermaid dress charmed. Tulle detailing and a corset added grace. A skirt with a godet completed another look. In Reed’s world, bridal is individual. It celebrates love in all its forms.

Absolutely, this collection will sell. Harris Reed has a distinct vision. Their maximalist aesthetic resonates deeply. The focus on individuality is powerful. 1. What are five key words you would use to encapsulate your brand identity and essence? 

Passion, timeless, surreal, assertive and unapologetic.

2. What is the initial impression or feeling would you like your audience to takeaway from your brand?

To feel a mix of intrigue and reverence, as if they are witnessing something raw, powerful, and poetic at once.

JOERDANA should strike them with a sense of fearless individuality, conceptual depth, and artisanal beauty. 

3. In your press release, you wrote:
“Each garment reflects a deep commitment to craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with modern structure and detail.” Many brands celebrates this narrative. In your view, what uniquely sets JOERDANA apart? 

What sets JOERDANA apart is not only the craftsmanship itself, but the uncompromising conceptual depth behind each piece.The garments are treated as artifacts not gimmics.

Carrying raw emotion, sculptural presence, and narrative intention so they exist as more than fashion; they become a visceral experience.

4. You’ve beautifully stated that the brand’s values “process over speed and artistry over automation.” Could you elaborate on what this statement means to you and to the creative philosophy of JOERDANA ?

For me, ‘process over speed’ means allowing time for intention. I want my work to hold meaning down to the smallest detail and that can’t be rushed.

‘Artistry over automation’ reflects my belief in the irreplaceable value of the handmade. Every piece carries a human touch, a soul, something no machine can replicate.

5. Looking ahead, what future do you envision for JOERDANA? Is the brand’s journey driven more by a desire to inspire others, explore personal discovery, illuminate certain truths, or simply create wearable art?

The journey i envision will be driven by personal discovery and my love for fashion. An ongoing exploration of ideas, materials, and meaning.

At the same time, I hope the brand can inspire others and, in its own way, contribute something valuable to people and to the world.

6. What’s next for JOERDANA? Do you already have specific concepts in motion, or will you be embracing a more go-with-the-flow approach for upcoming projects?

I do have specific concepts already in motion, but I remain flexible.

For me, it’s important to respond to what’s happening in the world, whether that means highlighting certain issues or emotions through a collection or expressing them in a presentation.

JOERDANA will always balance vision with responsiveness.

CRUDE Autumn/Winter 2025 By JOERDANA

CRUDE, Autumn/Winter 2025, is a couture collection shaped by instinct, ritual, and rebellion. Fur, skin, and hair become sacred materials—raw, symbolic, and deeply human. Structured forms meet misaligned cuts, and fractured silhouettes embrace imperfection. Each garment is inhabited, not worn, part relic, part act of resistance.

Inspired by Dadaism, CRUDE rejects fashion’s logic. Elegance falls apart. Meaning fades. Beauty returns to its primal essence.

1. Before Surrealism emerged, there was Dadaism, a movement born from the chaos, displacement, and disillusionment of war. Dada rose as a rebellious response to a world that had lost its innocence and reason during the devastation of World War. What drew you to the spirit of Dada when creating CRUDE?

What drew me to Dada was its raw rebellion and rejection of convention. With CRUDE, I wanted to echo that spirit, creating something imperfect, visceral, and real.

2. How do you personally define the term CRUDE? What does this word signify to you, and in what ways is that meaning expressed throughout this collection?

CRUDE means raw and unrefined ,finding beauty in imperfection, which is reflected through rough textures and unfinished details in the collection.

3. What were the key elements you aimed to emphasize in this collection, was it more about the style, aesthetic, or something deeper?

It was about something deeper, using style and aesthetic as tools to express raw emotion, imperfection, and honesty

4. Does CRUDE convey a particular message to your audience or to society at large? If so, what message were you hoping to express? 

CRUDE carries a message about embracing imperfection. a reminder that rawness, vulnerability, and honesty can be just as powerful as polish or perfection.

5. Can you walk me through one of your favourite looks from the collection? What makes it stand out for you?

Probably my favourite piece would be the black sequin dress. It took a great deal of time and process from creating each feather and molding the fabric into the desired shape, to sewing every tiny gathered lock of hair onto the dress.

I think the amount of time I invested in it makes me feel especially connected to this piece.

6. What challenges did you encounter while developing CRUDE?

One of the challenges was it didn’t turn out how I actually wanted, as I miscalculated the time to do each piece, it took longer than I estimated it to be.

Thus, there are certain details I couldn’t do in time before the show. I only got about one and a half month to finish 3 looks which wasn’t ideal but i did the very best i could.

7. Could you share the journey of how this collection came to life—from the initial concept to the final execution?

My process begins with sketching random thoughts inspired by everyday objects, surroundings, or small details. I then connect these sketches with materials and fabrics that draw me.

For CRUDE, the spark came from a documentary on early humans—their raw garments and tools—leading me to research and weave those details into my designs.

I work in reverse: I sketch first, discover the concept within the drawings, and finally transform the ideas into finished garments.

8. Lastly, do you see yourself revisiting Dadaism or drawing from it again in future collections, or was this a one-time exploration?

Probably one day. I’ve always been fascinated by Dadaism and Surrealism. But there are still so many beautiful things in the world to draw from.

I can definitely see myself incorporating elements of Dadaism and Surrealism again in the future, as part of staying true to my brand DNA.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2026: Entitled Casa

The Rizkianto debuts at Jakarta Fashion Week 2026 on October 29, 2025. The Rizkianto presents “Casa” – their newest collection, inspired by our Creative Director’s two homes, and combines the artistry and craftsmanship of Indonesia’s traditional Tenun fabrics with Italian couture tailoring and design.

Entitled Casa (“Home”), this 12-look collection is synchronised by a single golden thread, one that seeks to weave a new future for Tenun, Indonesia’s traditional handwoven textile.

Inspired by the glamour and femininity of the 1950s, Dery Rizkianto, together with master Tenun artisans from Garut, transformed this lustrous thread into a distinctive golden Tenun polka dot motif. Through an intricate sulam technique, handcrafted to achieve the smoothest circular form, his team has created a remarkable tenun sulam design – a first of its kind.

With this innovation, Dery redefines tenun as a fabric of limitless possibility, breaking away from the notion that traditional textiles are difficult to be reimagined for the modern era.

Dery’s “Casa” collection is also a deep reflection for the designer, reflecting upon his journey as a designer and the unification of two places he now calls home, Jakarta, Indonesia and Milan, Italy.

“This is very much a story of my life experience. I love Indonesia: it’s my home, it’s my first identity, and I want to celebrate and show the world the beauty of our culture and the timeless designs and crafts we offer.

THEIR ORIGIN:

This story begins in La Salle College, Montreal, Quebec, with two fashion students, Hannah and Steven, who initially hated each other, becoming friends over their common distaste for the fashion industry at the time. After finishing school, they then went onto hustle for their brand and identity. Moving to New York, they would become a popular underground brand, selling designs to drag queens from the club they squatted in and on Depop. Before they knew it, they had amassed over 700k followers on Instagram and were in the perfect position to be recognised by larger designers in their field.

Since then, they have scaled their talent, creatively collaborating with Rick Owen’s in his FW19 ‘Larry’ collection and designing the Louboutin X MF heel with Christian Louboutin for their own FW25 ‘The Other’ show.

MATIÈRES FÉCALES ‘HANNAH’ SS26 — LOOK ANALYSIS

Titled ‘Hannah’, this new collection is a love letter from Steven Raj Bhaskaran to his partner Hannah Rose Dalton, in their recent PFW (Paris Fashion Week) SS26 couture collection. With key themes of imperfection, death, life, love, identity and beauty — Bhaskaran takes us on a journey of self-expression.

We can clearly see how he tries to press against conventional beauty, by introducing the inclusivity of different body types, ability, gender and race. The creativity of their niche powdered bald head and bold red lips emphasise a strong boldness, expressed in the MF way.

LOOK 1

Hannah opens for the show for their SS26 PFW collection, wearing a pink duchess satin material with a bold tailoring to it. Almost armor-like at the shoulders and chest region, but shaped with curves at the hips and rough edges at the armholes. This contrast emphasises many features of softness, strength and boldness, marrying the concepts instead of suppressing any one of them.

LOOK 2

In this look we have another pink look but in déchiré tweed material, traditionally seen as a classic fabric, but modelled in a ripped and frayed way, emanating the true Matières Fécales style. The pink resonates with the the view of beauty we all have but the styling still drives home their uniqueness in decay-like powerfulness.

LOOK 27

This look starts with another colour choice, black. Contrasting our prior visuals, but introducing the more emo-couture notes they are used to. The corseted gown in tulle with floral pieces exposes what is usually hidden, combining rawness with vulnerability and provocation.

LOOK 39

This commanding silhouette is made of layered crimson tulle and silk organza. Displaying a beautiful marriage of romance and strength. The cascading train of tulle also introduces movement and velocity, whilst still encouraging emotion and passion. Being the third colour note shown, we are evoked with elements of intimacy and rebirth.

LOOK 40

Black Rose Resurrection. An excellent description of the visual at hand. The swathing layers of sheer black and dusty rose tulle creates a beauty in the form of mourning. The positioning of the roses create structure and the scarlet gloves emphasise life pulsing at the veins. This artistic take also features their signature powdered head and red lip look, stamping this with MF at the helms.

LOOK 42

This look merges funereal with softness and romantic ornamentation. The volume at the train feels historical yet modern with a gothic take. This look also keeps in line with the elements of decay, death to self and rebirth of something more beautiful, but not in a conventional way, but in a MF way.

Across all 45 looks this PFW, Matières Fécales explore transformation with the colour palettes of black, red and pink, emphasising decay and death, rebirth, intimacy and romance and beauty amongst the ashes. This SS26 ready-to-wear collection blurs the lines between RTW and couture — reinforcing MF’s position between artistic venture and apparel. With a luxurious show at Place Vendōme, Paris, the house finished their run with a free afterparty, demonstrating elegance, but with community at their core.
