Li-Ning’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection was a celebration of fearless innovation and groundbreaking athletic design, inspired by the brand’s legacy. The collection was a study of imagined archetypes of the Li-Ning man and woman, including the skater, gamer, athlete, and cool kid, all seen through the collection. A nod to past decades while looking towards the future of fashion.

The range featured pieces from Li-Ning’s most progressive collections, including Kung Fu-inspired pieces from collaborations with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, as well as a new exclusive collaboration with Steven Harrington, a Los Angeles-based artist known for his psychedelic-pop aesthetic.

Li-Ning’s latest collection evokes a sense of nostalgia for 2000s-era raver style, with its vibrant colors and streetwear-inspired designs. The collection’s elevated skate vision is prominently displayed in all-over printed jackets, shirts, and pants featuring a beautiful collage of Beijing and Hong Kong’s cityscapes at night. Meanwhile, the women’s collection boasts puckered apparel in grass green and orange hues, as well as winter white cargo pants with oversized zip pockets and effortless hoodie-dresses featuring cinched waists. The collection also included heavy tactical patch pockets, tonal zippers, and engineered hoodies and sweatpants that envisioned a stylish future of sportswear.

The show’s color palette was injected with bright nylon raincoats that added a pop of vibrancy. The puckered knitwear, including bell bottoms, sweaters, and women’s dresses. For those who prefer a more understated look, the collection features pieces with subtle yet bold accents, such as oversized zip pockets vests and cargo pants. Meanwhile, those who love to make a statement can opt for the visually striking suits featuring a collage of Beijing and Hong Kong cityscapes at night. As far as footwear, LI-NING drove inspiration from the Metaverse for footwear. Titan Flow inflatable shoes; bring a minimal and streamlined design that is different from the traditional architecture of footwear. Instead, they feature a futuristic, motor-driven adjustable inflatable wrapping system and a full-length foam midsole, showcasing Li-Ning’s forward-thinking approach to shoe design.

Li-Ning also drew inspiration from one of the greatest discoveries of Chinese archaeology of the 20th century. An ancient Han Dynasty Shu brocade armguard unearthed in 1995 at the foot of Kunlun Mountain, for a range of men’s and women’s star-print apparel and accessories. The collection was a testament to Li-Ning’s innovative fabric development and forward-thinking design, offering a fresh take on modern sportswear.
