Ziuzo Hair Salon Review
My Ziuzo Hair Salon review and how we brought Ombre hair back. This weeks beauty challenge for me was to go pink and color my already red hair, but get the Ombre hair look back. I contacted Victoria Akuagwu owner of the Ziuzo Hair Salon to see if she was up for the challenge. She said, of course, let me show you what I can do.
I had already checked her out and was not afraid to go to Lewisham in South East London to give her a try and review her salon and techniques. The Black women who work at Elle UK rated her, so she must be worth it. They included her in The Best Salons For Black And Afro Hair In London!
Style Cartel Beauty Bring the Ombre Hair Back
What won’t kill you makes you strong is my mantra at the moment. After going through a traumatic experience I needed to get my groove back. It was kinda like breaking up with your boyfriend and cutting your hair. For the last 2 years, I have been doing the opposite, letting my hair grow and just coloring it. This time around I wanted to go redder and Ombre with a hint of pink.
Trends in Black Hair Colour at Ziuzo Hair Salon Review
Ombre hair came onto the style scene a few years ago and we ladies cannot get enough of it. But no-one could have known that it would sit on the top of the hair color throne for so long – only recently knocked off the top spot by balayage. I want to go lighter, but I am afraid of destroying my hair. I felt the ends could take it because I will always need a little trim.
As lengths du jour come and go, ombre dyeing is a constant. Gracing every style, from Beyonce’s Grammys bob to Olivia Wilde’s mermaid-inspired Golden Globes ‘do, this hair color is a celebrity staple. Everyone star works the look at some point in their lives. Funny thing now is people are commenting on our Instagram how my hair makes me look like the Little Mermaid and happy that I have gone redder.
I showed Victoria a picture of Rihanna and her red locks and she said let’s take your hair color up a notch. I was prepared to spend four hours at the salon to get the color I wanted and they Ombre style my hair needed. Victoria gave me a cup of tea and tons of magazines to read as she started to do her magic.
When we thought we were finished she said we need to add pinker and I was not afraid. She gave me a fiery red and a hot pink that made all the boys whistle when I walked out of the salon. The pink was by Creative Image and the color was Adore 140 Neon Pink for a shiny semi-permanent color.
It was exactly what I wanted and then we decided to add some bounce to it with a curly style. Victoria and her team were lovely and she was the first person to teach me how to pin curl my hair correctly. I could never do it before and happy to say I have kept up the color and the style by myself at home!

The Ziuzo Hair Salon in London has just gotten themselves a new client. Thanks to the amazing job and the Elle recommendation. Hmm, I think I might go even pinker and try baby pink or ballerina pink on my next visit. What do you think of my hair color? Leave a comment or go check out the ladies in the salon.
