Water colour effect on The Tip of Your Fingers

Hello girls

Don’t you just fall in love with how water colour mixes on the plate while you are trying to achieved a mixed colour? I do. It’s one of my obsession.

So I thought, what could I possibly do to keep those beautiful pattern on my finger nails. There’s technique on creating marble nail arts all over the internet, but girls, this is different. It’s the flow of colours mixing with each other, slowly flow and form a mixed colour without any strokes. Well, I better stop writing about it and let you style lovers  watch the tutorial!

Equipments needed

  1. Water colour, to get better result, I chose red, blue and yellow
  2. Brushes
  3. Plastic bag cut into small pieces of square
  4. Top coat nail polish
  5. Scissors
  6. a nail file

Let’s get started

  1. Start with dripping water colour on the pieces of plastic. I recommend you to try using dark colour first, because it looks much more mesmerising  dripping a lighter colour on the darker one.
  2. Slowly dripping other colours of your choice.
  3. Repeat step 1 and 2 with multiple pieces of plastic and let it dry. I left it overnight since I was tired after painting. LOL
  4. Once it’s completely dry, paint a layer of transparent topcoat over and let it dry completely. I recommend to leave it on for a few hours for the best result. (Water colours tends to dissolved too when painted over with nail polish)
  5. Be patient. Make sure it’s completely dry.
  6. Paint your nail with a layer of nail polish of your choice. Peel off the water colour nail polish you made and cut them into your desired shapes before applying them on your nail
  7. Wait for a minute before applying a top coat. File the access nail polish peels if needed.
  8. DONE! Snap and share!

Tips & Tricks

  • DRY! Let it dry completely!
  • Put on a thick layer of nail polish on the water colour for easy peeling action
  • Try cut the peeling part into different shapes such as squares, circle or even random triangle to decorate your nail. This give a very minimal artistic look!
  • Do not wash your hand or wet your hand until it’s completely dry.

Stay tuned for the next DIY tutorial!
