Trendy Tuesday: Hijab Chic by KTZ

“Berber women are even stronger than the men in their look and their accessories.”

This Trendy Tuesday is Hijab Chic by KTZ.  For  Spring/Summer 2014 KTZ brought the dessert warrior princess to the runway for a little sporty “Hijab Chic.”StyleCartel_TrendyTuesday_KTZ-05

You can see that Pejoski spent some time in the Kingdom of the Dame Vivienne Westwood. Pejoski and co-designer Koji Maruyama have started their own tribe of desert warrior princess with chic, edgy clothes to hit the street and go clubbing in.  KTZ  Spring/Summer 20014 inspiration came from time spent in  Maghreb. We see this on the prints, jewellery and the hijab styled scarves and desert hats.

No need for worries the collect incorporates the evil eye symbol, with graphic statement jewellery, headgear and rain gear, for today’s dessert warrior to glide through life like an urban nomad. Tribal layering, mixed with ancient and modern styles and fabrics.  Islamic mosaics, geometric shapes and futuristic funk were the main themes of the collections.   It made me want to go dig into my jewellery, box for my pieces of traditional silver Berber jewellery from my travels in North Africa. Uusually reserved for weddings. Yayayayy

“It’s the way they communicate their wealth,” Pejoski explained, “like wearing your bank account on your chest”

Another trend spotted at this collection colored biker jackets and bomber jackets.StyleCartel_TrendyTuesday_KTZ-06
