VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO – FALL-WINTER 2017

The VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO – FALL-WINTER 2017 collection went to the British country side for inspiration.  The collection is filled with capes and English tailoring for next Fall Winter 2017. THE STYLE EDITOR EDIT VERONIQUE BRANQUINHO – FALL-WINTER 2017 The Fall-Winter 2017 collection features elegant, sharp and delicate looks, with couture-like details infusing some discrete and sophisticated romance.   Tailoring and sartorial techniques are central to this season’s story.

THE STYLE EDITOR EDIT

The style is clean and assertive, intently not accessorize. Impeccably cut suits, overalls (coming in 2 versions: pants, shorts) and belted jumpsuits;   Sweeping-floor trench with a high cinched waist and sleek 3/4 length square-shouldered A-coats;

Jacket designs blending with cape shapes; Fitted tops, bodies and under-bodices with thin graphical Swarovski crystal applications;  Ruffle mock blouses with softly structured arms;  Straight, minimal long button-up dresses;  Contrasting white stockings; Velvet heel slippers and crystal adorned sandals.

The designer played it safe with this collection. It was editorial pleasing with key pieces sticking to the trends, and filled with sellable items.

Back to the 90s, we went as Prada left its hometown to present its second cruise collection on the seventh floor of the Herzog & de Meuron designed Prada HQ in New York. The star-studded event which saw the likes of Selena Gomez, Dakota Fanning, Marc Jacobs, Uma Thurman and Chloë Sevigny, was also live streamed in Times Square. Floating transparent panels hung in the minimalistic space, some in red to recreate an augmented sunset while mirroring the frenetic energy of New York.

Karl Lagerfeld is no stranger to an extravagant backdrop. Having previously held fashion shows with replicas of the Eiffel Tower, a life-size dollhouse and an airline, it seems only logical that Chanel would preview their Cruise 2019 show… on an actual cruise? You may have noticed the words ‘La Pausa’ on the side of the 330-foot-long ship. Named after a villa in the south of France built by Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel in the 30s, the stunning backdrop majestically sat tall at the Grand Palais in Paris, a month after it was announced that Chanel would be pledging $40 million for restoration.
