One of my favorite things to do is by magazines when I am traveling. The last trip I picked up the Time Magazine 100 Most Influential People just for the cover, with Riz Ahmed on the cover. I find him so handsome and decided he should be the homeboy Style of the week. He is a rapper you know.
We fell in love with the actor of course in his role in the latest Star Wars movie. Rizwan “Riz” Ahmed, also known as Riz MC, is a British actor and rapper of Pakistani descent. As an actor, he was initially known for his work in independent films such as The Road to Guantanamo, Shifty, Four Lions, Trishna, and Ill Manors, before his breakout role in Nightcrawler.
Since then, he has appeared in the films Una, Jason Bourne, and the first Star Wars Anthology film, Rogue One. He also starred in the HBO miniseries The Night Of as Nasir Khan; the show and his performance were critically lauded, earning him Golden Globe and SAG nominations. He has appeared on TIME magazine’s The Most Influential People of 2017 cover.

In 2006, Ahmed released a satirical social-commentary rap track entitled “Post 9/11 Blues”. The song was initially banned from British airplay because the lyrics were deemed “politically sensitive”.Other tracks he has released include “Sour Times” which was accompanied by a video featuring Scroobius Pip, Plan B, Tom Hardy, and Jim Sturgess.
He was selected as a BBC Introducing artist in 2007, playing the Glastonbury Festival and the BBC Electric Proms. He opened the Meltdown Festival with Bristol-based trip-hop group Massive Attack at the Royal Festival Hall in 2008, and was appointed ‘Emerging Artist in Residence’ at the Southbank Centre in London. Ahmed also co-founded the Hit & Run night in Oxford, which has since moved to Manchester. Hit & Run has gone on to become one of Manchester’s leading underground music events.
In 2011, he released his debut album, Microscope, which was re-released with additional remixes in 2012. On 1 December 2011, it was announced that Riz MC had signed to Tru Thoughts, an independent label in Brighton. In February 2015, dubstep artist Distance announced that he had recently finished producing an album with Ahmed called HalfLife.
Ahmed is also half of the hip hop duo Swet Shop Boys along with Heems. Their debut release, Swet Shop EP, was released in 2014.The group’s debut full-length effort, Cashmere, was released on 14 October 2016,and received critical acclaim.
He is also featured in The Hamilton Mixtape, which topped the Billboard 200 chart. This puts him in the unique position of sitting at number-one on both the Billboard 200 album chart and the movie box office chart (with Rogue One) at the same time. In 2016, he released the nine-track mixtape, Englistan.
Now let’s talk about his Homme Boy Style. We all love a man who can dress, but sometimes being an average height guy many make mistakes when dressing. They sometimes can choose clothing that makes them look shorter. Like sporting old hip hop baggy pants look. Not our Riz Ahmed, along with his career his style has emerged. So much it has turned him into a dreamboat crush of ours. He has showed that men can grow out of the baggy pant Wu-Tang look, and cross over into wearing slim suits when he has to clean up.
He is one of the best examples of Homme Boy Style. Men in their 30’s sometime battle with staying a boy in the hood, who needs to grow up. The Actor/Rapper shows men they can still stay cool casual and dress smart. Reason why the Riz Ahmed has made our celebrate male look of the week. He is also a powerful speaker and intelligent which makes him even more sexy.
