I finally made it to Dubai. We rang in the New Year and discovered where to hang out in Dubai. With nothing much else to do but, eat, workout and party by the pool then repeat we found the hotspots you should check out if you are planning a visit.
Where to Hangout in Dubai
Where to Stay
If you are looking for a place to stay, then definitely book a room at Rixos Premium Dubai with two locations to choose from in the city. After landing in Dubai and going to their pool, we wished we had stayed there. We ended up staying at Media One Hotel Dubai.
The Media One Hotel Dubai was a great local to get anywhere, but if you want to get some sun by the pool, it is impossible because there are so many tall buildings surrounding the hotel. The staff is lovely, and you have everything at your fingertips.
This hotel is lively and has two restaurants and loads of places to hang out, play pool, get your spa on and have a few cocktails alcoholic and not alcoholic.
Where to Shop
First stop should be the Dubai Mall. The Mall is the flagship of Emaar Malls and the world’s most visited shopping and entertainment destination. With over 1,300 retail outlets including a dedicated Fashion Avenue, two anchor department stores – Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s. Where you can find things, you cannot get in other malls. With over 200 food and beverage outlets, it offers an unparalleled retail mix combined with world-class dining, entertainment and leisure attractions.
With over 150 new luxury shopping and dining experiences, including flagships and new concepts, Fashion Avenue is the Middle East’s premier luxury shopping destination. What I enjoyed was the customer service all the sales associates greet you warmly and ask if you need assistance with your shopping.
Walk by and gaze at the incredible Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. Home to the world’s most diverse marine life; KidZania®. There is also an Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink and a VR Park, a first-of-its-kind virtual reality attraction in the Middle East. And don’t forget to shop to you drop and order your Uber early, or else you will have to wait in a long queue for a taxi.
Dubai Gold Souk
Dubai Gold Souk or Gold Souk, is a traditional market in Dubai, UAE. The souk located in Dubai’s commercial business district in Deira, in the locality of Al Dhagaya. The souk consists of over 380 retailers, most of whom are jewellery traders. Where you can rub shoulders with brides from Asian and Arab backgrounds who are shopping for bangles, necklaces and earrings for their special traditional day. Where you have to show your wealth by your jewellery.
When in Dubai, it is almost impossible not to visit the gold markets. One of the popular tourist destinations of the emirate. Historically, this city is known for its gold trade. With almost countless retailers around, you might wonder which areas you should check out to shop. Check out Al-Romaizan in Old Dubai. The salespeople are friendly and have a plethora of gold accessories to window shop and buy while in this mystical location.
Dubai Pools & Pool Parties
Almost every day is Ladies night in Dubai with complimentary entry or drinks associated with the event. Dubai has every flavour of female ice cream in one city. For a great view, restaurants for every taste bud, rooftop pool with great views check out JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai.
If you like sushi, then we recommend the Izakaya where they have there own wasabi girl. Who comes with a green wig and a smile when you want more wasabi.
Experience traditional Japanese cuisine in downtown Dubai at Izakaya restaurant, featuring an enticing menu and authentic surroundings. Reservations required.
Armani Hotel Dubai
At the Armani Hotel Dubai, where you can travel the globe in one location. Where you can embark on an award-winning culinary journey. That takes you from the heart of Italy and Japan’s Pacific archipelago to India’s rich heritage and the shores of Europe and the Mediterranean.
We choose the Amal restaurant serving five-star Indian food. Where we ate, talked, and ate some more eventually having to ask for a doggy bag. We hate to waste good food. It was so dark and sexy we could not take good pictures.
