If you follow us on Instagram or read the blog regularly then you know we had an epic wild and wet summer 2019. We spent the summer season between Florence and Ibiza. The swimwear that came with us was Bold and Bright and the Outfits of the day had a piece of Eberjey.
The eberjey brand was born in 1996 by two friends Ali Mejia and Mariela Rovito that had the belief that the layer worn next to the heart should express happiness, love and confidence. These are all the things that make a woman truly beautiful. It is funny how the universe knows what you are looking for. For the past 3 years, I personally have been on a similar journey and nice to find a brand we can support with the same life goals.
Eberjey – Bold & Beautiful
Style Cartel is also female-founded like the brand and when we had the opportunity to work with the brand we seized it. Their collections are for the luxury traveller, who wants pieces she can feel sexy and confident in her lingerie to swimwear. As well as wash and wear items are essential when travelling.
One of the most amazing things about Eberjey is you can wash them on gentle or hand wash and they come out the way you put them in the machine. They also do not lose their colour. You just have to be careful with some of the softer sheer gauze pieces the are really delicate.
Eberjey – Built for Goddesses
The brand was born out of love and you can feel it in the clothes. The name Eberjey was derived from a Nigerian parable. Eberjey captures the closeness, eb the goodness, er and the all-encompassing joy, jey embodied in our company and products. When we packed our bags that was the energy we wanted to take with us.
The team noticed a distinct lack of lingerie that spoke to this belief, co-founders Ali Mejia and Mariela Rovito, then colleagues at a global advertising agency ventured to fill this void by creating pretty underthings that flattered real bodies and felt good too. Women after my own heart, I myself worked at an advertising agency and this is the best place to discover niches in the market and quit your day job to follow a dream.
Eberjey for EVERY KIND of Woman
Ali had always joked that someday she would design underwear for laterally challenged, flat-bottomed women like herself, so that’s what Eberjey did first. and thus, the boy short became a must-have item in well-stocked lingerie drawers everywhere but that was just the beginning. Thongs, bralets, and camis soon followed, along with pyjamas, loungewear and swimwear as women fell in love with the girly-sexy-comfy style and look of Eberjey.
I feel Eberjey beachwear is designed for our entire team here at Style Cartel. I am curvy but only gained a butt by doing squats. That explains why their bikini bottoms fit so well. The bathing suits never lost their luxury feel or shape.
The daywear items allowed me to go from the poolside party to lunch. I still felt sexy in my body and clothes. I was also surprised I fit into small even though I am full-figured. Not only models fit into smalls, petite curvy girls too.
You can find Eberjey on their own owned and operated sites or on NET-A-PORTER and other worldwide boutiques. Items are a bit pricey, pieces may need gentle care, but the compliments we got wearing items on vacation were well worth it. The best thing is you probably will not see another woman in the same suit. The tribe of Eberjey now has a few new members and we think you should join for all those last-minute holiday breaks.
