Now that I have relocated to London when I go home to Paris, I like to treat myself to a lovely hotel stay. This week I checked myself into Maison Armance to review the hotel and see what all the buzz is about. It’s the opportunity to review hotels in neighbourhoods I thought of living in before. Because now I am usually am in Paris for fashion week or visit just because I miss it.
Staying somewhere central and has that je ne sais quoi is vital for me. Maison Armance ticks all the boxes, and for Paris Fashion weeks it is in a prime location you might have never thought a boutique hotel was located there.
I am French, so the luxury lifestyle is what life is all about. Yet, we also like to be discreet — this location nestled in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. On your doorsteps, you can find the Louvre museum, Tuileries and the 17th-century Palais Royal.
Maison Armance Hotel Review
Where you also have the opportunity to strut down the street to the designer boutiques and luxury jewellers along chic Rue Saint Honoré and Place Vendôme. Have afternoon tea at Angelina’s before going to Les Halles shopping for some retail therapy along Rue de Rivoli and in a vast underground mall. All about a 10 minute walk away.
Maison Armance is a member of Esprit de France, a collection of hotels and residences rich in art and history. A Parisian pied-a-terre, then you are sure to be seduced by Maison Armance, the new 4-star boutique hotel on Rue Cambon. To find it, stop outside number 5, which was home to Stendhal at the beginning of the 19th century.
Today, the mansion is known as Maison Armance, in homage to the novel penned by the French writer. After opening the carriage door, walk through the typically Parisian porch and cross the peaceful courtyard. Follow the signs in the yard and let yourself to be transported in the tiny elevator to another world. Take the lift straight to the top floor where your welcome awaits.
Once you have your room key in hand, head to the floor shown and cross the hallway designed in the style of a winter garden, resembling the orange trees in the Jardin des Tuileries. Then enjoy the lush rooms, with a fully stocked refreshment bar. Goodies to snack on good and bad if you arrive late. Because it is Paris and everything closes early if you need a late-night smake.

The bathroom is so luxurious you will spend hours just enjoying your personal spa. Pour a glass of champagne and have a bubble bath, with all the luxurious toiletries at your fingertips. Then if you need, there is a great power shower head.
Each room features authentic prints whose finesse is sure to impress. The unusual layout of the reception on the 6th floor plunges you into the world of a French literary and artistic salon. The windows offer a unique view of the capital and transport you in a space flooded with natural light.
Storm grey, zinc, brick red, midnight blue…the colour palette is inspired by the rooftops and skies of Paris, just like the works of painters. The selection of fine materials, such as tweed, velvet, brass and wicker, is a common thread that runs throughout the couture-inspired interior.
In your luxe room, you can relax and catch up on the news in the common area, or the bedroom where there is a large bed.
