The Update To Vaseline We’ve Been Waiting For — Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Let’s talk about the cutesy pink lip mask you’ve been eyeing in Sephora. Yeah.. you’re gonna’ need that. The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is a little slice of luxury for your lips and the update to Vaseline we’ve been waiting for. No lie.
First things first, if you’re not applying some lip chap before bed, what is you doin’ baby? I used to be a Vaseline-Chapstick girl myself, but soon discovered this thicc, smell-good lip mask and welp, I won’t be going back.
It’s full of occlusives to ensure well moisturized, supple lips, overnight. What’s an occlusive? Think, Vaseline. Waxy like ingredients that form a barrier over the skin, locking in moisture. Occlusives are the reason your grandmothers and aunties stayed Vaseline’d up at night, and probably still slay to this day.
Sometime last year, I noticed fine lines forming on my upper lip, and NOPE. Who has time for wrinkles? So I put in a Christmas request (Thanks Ma!), and it quickly became a staple. Thanks to antioxidants, and Vitamin C in the formula, there was a noticeable difference in my fine lines—and overtime my lips appeared brighter, not to mention smoother.
The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is thicker and stickier than Vaseline, so it stays put. Unless of course, you like to eat in bed like moi, you’ll have to re-apply. The delicious berry scent invigorates the senses and an excellent topper to the end of a solid skincare routine.
Quick Note: If you’re a little iffy about the price, add it to your Christmas list, but trust, it’s worth the $20. I got it in December of last year, and it’s still not empty (as photographed). It also comes with an applicator so you can slather on a thick layer before bed. We’re getting older folks, and so are those lips, protect them while you still can.
