Christmas is coming and suffering from acne may feel like you’re stuck in a paradox. One of the best gifts you can give is skincare. Here at SC, we have gift guides for your loved ones struggling with acne-prone skin. It’s the gift guide to start a new routine if their current one isn’t working.
A big range from masks, exfoliants, moisturizers, cleansers, serums we’ve got you completely covered.
1. Super Facialist – My Top Picks
SuperFacialist is one of my favourite brands. They specialize in acne-prone skin one of their main ingredients is Salicylic Acid.
One of the downsides of Salicylic Acid is it could dry out your skin. On the other hand, SuperFacialist made this formula not to dry out your skin.
Adding Vitamin B3 to keep the moisture balanced. They all come separately but they do make great for a Christmas gift.
I wash my face day and night. This cleanser is best to use two times a day even three. It is a very soft, velvety-feel, gel-based cleanser and it smells like elderflower.
Superfacialist cleanser leaves your skin soft, pores are noticeably smaller and bonus skin isn’t as oily (if your loved one has oily skin).
I never left the house nor did I go to bed without using this serum. It was my religion. All you need is a pea size for your whole face.
It is packed with Salicylic Acid, VitaminB3, Pomegranate, Cinnamon, Ginger, even Aloe and Bisabolol to further assist.
It is a killer serum. Not only does it moisturize, but it balances your skin, hydrate, fight acne and reduce acne spots.
Who doesn’t love a good facial mask? I still use this facial mask until this very day. One of the greatest for acne-prone skin.
Every night, I open my pores to use this using a steamer or after a hot shower. It really cleanses your skin. So it has Salicylic Acid, Vitamin A, D, B3, Dead Sea Mud, Acacia Honey, and Avocado Oil. Sounds like a heavenly facial at home.
A hydrating, brightening and most effective scrub. It smells like roses and your face will too. It removes all the dead skin cells and impurities.
It improves your skin texture. It is packed with vitamin B5, White Willow and Menthol that hydrates brightens and exfoliates while transforming your texture and appearance of your skin.
Vitamin C is great for the skin. It is one of the most effective antioxidants. I find that certain vitamin c serums could irritate acne-prone skin because it is too strong. Acne-prone skin needs collagen restoration.
Alpha-H is here to save us. While Vitamin C (L-Absorbic) is the main ingredient, Alpha-H added Shea Butter for that real smooth application. It is a paste but it is velvety, smooth, and gentle. It really helps for pigmentation spots from acne and early signs of ageing.
Tamanu Oil what is that? It is plant oil. Tamanu is Calophyllum inophyllum plant grown in Polynesia/SouthEast Asia.
It is popular there due to its anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidants, and it is also a form of vitamin E. It is a cure for all.
It is a thick-oil so little is more. It is one of the best for spot treating and hyper-pigmentation. It smells so fresh.
If a facial cleanser isn’t enough. Well, NO7 just released their ultimate cleanse collection. It is an amazing at-home cleanser. It is battery operated and it included. It brings a cleanser, tonic water and a peel-off mask.
Acne-Prone Skin Products That Really Work
Not only is the brush gentle, but it really exfoliates, cleanses and nourishes. It leaves your skin quite smooth and feeling fresh. I tried the peel-off mask. I must say it almost feels better than the facialist. Using a little goes a long way. One of my favourite devices so far.
Whether it’s refreshing or removing make-up or simply reviving, I use Grounded’s Rosewater spray.
Not only does it help with hyperpigmentation, acne, dry skin but it also calms, purifies and quite refreshing. It gives a natural glow.
If you have sensitive acne-prone skin this is a MUST HAVE.
Another amazing exfoliator is Crabtree Polish + Clarify Face Exfoliator. It is a fine powder exfoliator.
One of the most interesting things about this product is that you can add it to your favourite face or body cleanser.
It features Apple, Bamboo extract, Jojoba oil and one of my favourites HoneySuckle flower. It leaves my face feeling so soft, hydrated and radiant. It is extremely gentle. One of my favourite exfoliators by far.
I love BioDerma skincare range. They’re great for loved ones with sensitive skin. Lately, I’ve been using Sebium Pore Refiner moisturiser in Mexico.
It doesn’t clog my pores, it’s lightweight and smells really nice. It leaves my face feeling velvety, natural glow, and weightless. It balances the oil in the skin; great for those with oily skin.
It has Mushroom Extract, Saylicic Acid, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Mannitol to help fight impurities and pollution.
We won’t sleep until Santa comes, so stay tuned for more gift guides until the 24th.
