‘The Art of Giving’ Love Ball will be held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the building falls in line with the LVMH group’s efforts to promote art and culture over the last 20 years. After all the rain we have been having in Paris, we need something to remind us Paris is all about art and culture not rain.
Natalia Vodianova, Russian supermodel and philanthropist, is inviting this year’s guests to celebrate the Naked Heart Foundation’s work to support children with special needs at the much-anticipated fifth, Jubilee edition of the Love Ball. One of the world’s most renowned high-society charity events, the Love Ball will take place on 6 July 2016 in Paris, France.
An intimate black-tie dinner for a sophisticated audience of 250 guests from around the world will be followed by a live auction of the finest works of contemporary art. The auction catalogue is curated by Jean-Paul Claverie, Advisor to the Chairman Mr Bernard Arnault, with the help of the Naked Heart Foundation’s own specialist and trustee, Sandra Nedvetskaia, who are assembling a unique selection of artworks, which reflect the best of international contemporary practice. Oliver Barker, Chairman of Sotheby’s Europe, will be wielding the gavel on the night.
The 15 unique lots will include a selection of works by outstanding international contemporary artists, including the current star of Monumenta, Huang Yong Ping (courtesy of Kamel Mennour) and Shanghai rising talent Zhang Enli (courtesy of Adrian Cheng). Many of the artists have worked with the Fondation Louis Vuitton in the past, such as Taryn Simon (courtesy Almine Rech Gallery), who participated in its inaugural exhibition, as well as Olafur Eliasson and Isaac Julien. Others like Chiharu Shiota (courtesy of Blain Southern) and Evgeniy Antufiev have represented their countries in the Venice Biennale and Manifesta respectively.
Among the highlights is a painting by one of today’s most acclaimed artists Sterling Ruby (courtesy of Gagosian gallery), a portrait by globally recognised art ‘rock star’ Takashi Murakami (Courtesy of Perrotin Gallery) and a unique opportunity to visit the LA studio of Frank Gehry, the world-renowned architect, as well as acquiring his signed sketch of the Fondation Louis Vuitton. The artists and galleries have been very generous in their support of the Naked Heart Foundation and its mission.
Guests will also enjoy an unforgettable musical performance by an iconic, and as-yet undisclosed, musician. The venue, a spectacular architectural masterpiece that is home to the Fondation Louis Vuitton collection, will be completely closed to the public for that night in order to welcome the select group of guests of Natalia Vodianova and the Naked Heart Foundation. Previously held under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco (2013) and at Valentino Garavani’s seventeenth-century Château de Wideville (2011), this year’s Love Ball is set to be the most unique fundraising event to date.
All the funds raised through the charity dinner and the auction will go towards developing support services for families with children with special needs and constructing inclusive playgrounds and play parks for children of all ages and abilities, which are the Naked Heart Foundation’s two main areas of work.
Stay tuned for the announcement of an unforgettable musical performance by an iconic musician as well. Check back for The weeks Party pictures.
