It’s no secret that having acne can be a source of anxiety for women and the emotional impact can take its toll. To understand more, NEUTROGENA® has developed the NEUTROGENA® Spotlight Moments Index. It is an expansive study of 16-30 year old female acne sufferers.
The report has been developed as part of the #ShineYourLight campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the impact acne has on women’s confidence. 93% of those surveyed say they have less confidence because of their skin. The NEUTROGENA® campaign aims to encourage women to shine their light and feel better about themselves on a daily basis.
NEUTROGENA® has identified key ‘Spotlight moments’ – everyday occasions as simple as sitting in sunlight or taking public transport. These moments don’t seem particularly stressful, but when you struggle with acne-prone skin, these are the times at which you feel self-conscious, like you’re under a spotlight. In fact, 75% of respondents describe themselves as ‘self-conscious’ and 59% as ‘ugly’ on days that they are experiencing a breakout.
