Hydro Boost from Neutrogena, to the rescue for your skin ?

by Sabah Mansour

Neutrogena has launched their biggest collection of all time : Hydro Boost. It goes from moisturizer to even foundation. But today, I am only focusing on skincare products.

If there are a few products you need to try, it’s their moisturizing creams.

Let’s talk about what the product looks like first. The packaging is really cute, it’s all blue. It makes perfect sense since it is water based, I really like it. It feels like I have a high end product in my hands. The consistency of the cream is good and not too oily. You can really feel the water in it, the gel is not too thick which is a plus.

What are the benefits of this line and does it work ?

« Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Water Gel instantly quenches dry skin and keeps it looking smooth, supple and hydrated day after day. Our award-winning and best selling water gel formula absorbs quickly and instantly delivers intense hydration. And it contains hydrating hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in the skin and acts as a sponge, absorbing up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This formula leaves skin more supple and smooth. »

So far, I have only tried the Water Gel. I have been using it a few weeks now, and I am honestly not super impressed. The consistency of the water gel is creamy and of course, water based for a full-moisture. But sadly, I don’t feel this moisture on my face when I apply it. I have dry skin, it feels good at first, when applying it but it quickly dries out and I feel like my skin is still dry.

Cosmetic line : hydrating tint, hydrating concealer, hydrating lip shine, hydrating lip treatment

« Plus, it’s an oil-free moisturizer, so you can wear it alone or under makeup as a smooth, velvety primer. »

I haven’t seen any difference with my makeup. I always set my face with some loose powder, which makes it stay all day. I don’t think this moisturizer helped with my makeup.

Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint

What I do like about it is that it is 100% alcohol free ans non-comedogenic, which means that it doesn’t clog pores. All of those benefits should have made this product perfect for me, sadly it doesn’t suit my dry skin. I still prefer the Hydra Genius from L’Oréal over this one (full review here).

But , I don’t feel like it truly hydrates my dry skin. I would love to get some reviews from you readers. I am sure this product is probably really good for normal and oily skin.
