Model Crush Monday: Noa Abbenhuis

I met Noa on set for our editorial for Nylon Japan. Noa was born in a little city called Breda in Holland. She moved from city to city around ever since. Until her parents got divorced and she moved back to little ol’ city Breda. She was always an outsider until high school hit, she says.  She grew into an outgoing, happy beautiful women. At 17 years old, she was scouted by 13 different agencies in Holland. What a hot commodity. She became a full-time model upon graduating high school. She also really enjoys modelling. If you ever see Noa, she is one of the sweetest, happiest, elegant girls in this industry. When I first saw her, I was telling a friend she’s going to be a star. A year later, here she is. Debuting in MM6, Emilio Pucci, Y-Project, Iceberg, Mulberry and many more.

SC: What was your first memory of fashion?

Noa: As a kid my mom could never tell me what to wear.  I always made the most weird combinations but it always made me so confident and proud! I never followed trends. Also, I never thought I could become a model. But when I first got scouted me and my mom looked at some shows and the Fendi Haute Couture A/W 2016/2017 exclusive show shooked me.

SC: How were you discovered?

Noa: My sister is a huge Youtube fan so we were at a Dutch convention for Youtubers. I was standing in line and someone came up to me and scouted me. But I never did anything with it. After that I’ve been scouted by 13 more agencies. I then decided to  reached out to my current mother agent myself.

SC: What has been your favourite modelling career moment so far?

Noa: I am so grateful for all the moments and people that I’ve met, and all the experiences.  I can’t really decide what my favorite moment is.  I just love the adrenalin when you walk a show!

SC: What is your signature feature?

Noa: I don’t really know if I have one. But I would say perhaps my unique hair and brows colour 🙂 Or my legs they’re insanely long.

SC: Do you have any hidden talents?

Noa: I can bellydance does that count? 😉

SC: What are your interests in general?

Noa: I love travelling the world, going to festivals or parties. When I’m back home, I love to do horse-riding.

SC: Which city would you explore next?

Noa: I would love to explore South Africa, it seems like a magical place.

SC: Skincare tips?

Noa: Just make sure you drink enough water. Also make sure your skin is not too dry or greasy! Every morning I wash my skin with cold water.

SC: What is your favourite city to work in or worked?

Noa: I really love NYC.  It’s so cool and so different from my hometown.

SC: Snapchat or Instagram Stories?

Noa: I prefer snapchat because I can send my friends ugly pics. I never know what to post on my instagram. I’m not such a instagram hero hahahah 😉

SC: What is your must have on the road beauty product?

Noa: A must need is my concealer, highlighter and my browgel. Otherwise I look like death ;P

SC: Where do you see yourself in few years?

Noa: I find this a difficult question because you never know what is going to happen. As a model my life is very fast paced. I just want to be happy.  I wouldn’t mind if my modelling career took a big leap. I really hope to walk for all the major brands and do a cover for Vogue Netherlands.

SC: What was your childhood like?

Noa: When I think back to my homechild I’ve always smiled. My mom had her own kindergarden at home so I always had friends to play with.

SC: How do you feel about moving around so much for work?

Noa:  I love seeing so many citys in a different view than when you go there for a holiday. But it makes me feel like I have so many homes. I easily get homesick from all the travelling. It’s tough.

SC: In what city would you settle?

Noa: My hometown – Breda, Holland.

SC: Runway or commerial?

Noa: Definitely runway. I love doing shows it’s like a drug to me!
