Where to Crash this PFW
Paris is where I call home and when friends and colleagues come to town they always want to know where to stay. Airbnb is for students, but kidults want a cool place to relax especially when in town for work. My new off the beaten track hot spot and place to set up camp is the Mob Hotel.
Mob Hotel the Luxury Compound
If you are in town for fashion week you know it’s non stop parties and photo ops. Fashion editors and celebrities are always looking for a place to escape for some quiet, to work and to chill with not a lot of other influencers or celebs around. No camera please here at Mob Hotel.
It is a luxury compound with no phones and tvs. Situate in the outskirts of Paris in the 93 Saint-Ouen. The ultimate escape from the fashion week crowd.
The luxury compound lets you get your work done, eat, shop and maybe dance the night away with weekly DJ sets or even catch a movie in the outside cinema. The best thing is if you want to get lost in your thoughts you can. This is a don’t disturb kind of hotel. The decor is very pop culture from different eras and genres. Make Sure you check out the curtains for your favorite music icons from past and present.
The rooms are spacious and minimalist. The bathrooms allow you to spread out all your beauty products or have fun with your lover. They use the same as many of my other favorite hotels around the world. They want to stay eco-friendly so turn off the water when you are not using them. The hotel wants to position themselves as a cooperative movement. I have joined the movement this summer. I felt like I was there most of this summer in Paris.
MOB HOTEL is a concrete utopia that looks more like an Aztec village than a hotel. Which caters to a rapidly growing demographic of humans who question themselves like me. It has an atmosphere where you want to get together play ping pong, throw a few drinks back and chill. The hoteliers set out to create a space like the Dreamed Republic. Why I am not surprised that rapper/actor like Mos Def aka Yasiin Baye calls it his hideaway in Paris.
It is a cave of Ali Baba where neighbors share vegetable gardens with our customers. An Incubator “KOLKHOZITA” where we graciously welcome business creators, cultural movements, associations – pop-up stores where they offer their support for artists, entrepreneurs, artists who present their creations – a bookstore more than 2,000 pocketbooks that for the transmission of culture.
You need a door code to get in and if you call someone the number is blocked. That is why famous people are flocking to this hip hotspot. MOB HOTEL – OF – THE PEOPLE!
It’s like home, all together. Sleep in late and chill on the MASTER MOB TERRACE! Palace style bed, organic amenities, terraces, gardens and lot of surprises.
The Restaurant is family friendly with games for both kids and adults. Even though I wished they had more vegan-friendly options the food was amazing. The brick oven pizza is like Arturo’s in NYC. You can enjoy a seasonal cuisine using organic products from farming cooperatives. Which made me happy to know where our food was coming from. Choose from a menu that is created by chef Brice Morvent. I wonder when he will start using all the goodies that are growing in the Mob Hotel garden.
Over all from the food to wine when we stayed was amazing. All the dishes seemed to be made from the heart and quite healthy for you. The staff was always ready to suggest different dishes and warm up our cold pizza.
MOB HOTEL, A HO– USE, A VILLAGE, A WORLD IN MOTION. My Paris hot spot recommends for the fashion crowd, who want a break before and after the shows. A place you can chill and get away from the Paris Fashion Week Madness.
