Minnow Clapham A Romantic Date Night
Since the end of last year, I have been actively dating and it has been fun. My restaurant reviews have also turned into date nights reviews too. On a chilly spring evening, I decided to treat my partner to a healthy date night to the Minnow Clapham Restaurant in, London SW4 0HY. We have been dating for a while so the place was romantic enough we could get cheeky under the table.
The staff loved it and played along with our date night games. I have been working on living a plant-based life for almost over a year and tonight was not going to be one of my “Cheat Night’s Out”. We were going to eat healthily and take our relationship further. Cheating on my healthy lifestyle had to come to an end, and actively dating ended tonight at the Minnow restaurant.
Restaurant for a Romantic Date in Clapham
The waiter took us through the entire menu, my lover took it upon himself to choose my meal and order for me. How sexy was that! This is the night I fell deeply in like! With my date and my dinner. When the waiter came to take my order the man in my life said: “ the lady will have ….” A man with manners still does exist!
We were so wrapped in our own little world we did not even notice anyone else in the restaurant. The atmosphere was that chill, sexy and subtle. Minnow is a laid-back independent neighbourhood restaurant overlooking Clapham Common.
Their menu is focused on modern, seasonal dishes using the freshest ingredients and local produce. They offer a selection of cocktails, wine, freshly pressed juices and hand-roasted coffee. It was hard to choose, but it was late, so my lover ordered some mocktails for us, which started the evening of conversations, flirting and eating healthy.
We tried the SHIRLEY TEMPLE Ginger ale, grenadine, maraschino cherry, soda. A NINJA Cranberry juice, ginger beer, lime then LULU Apple juice, pomegranate, lime, mint. I love trying new restaurants with men because they aren’t afraid to drink too much or eat too much. Now onto more flirting and snacks. It was a weekday, so we decided to indulge in snacky things.
We nibbled on the In-house baked bread, the wild garlic, and sourdough crouton between our mocktails and hand holding under the table. The staff observed it was a romantic evening and left us alone to get on with it. Only interrupting to recommend mains, bring food and more drinks.
The dishes are for people like us who like to graze, so we ordered a few dishes to share and have fork dancing opportunities on each other plates. First came the Grilled Plaice and caper butter, then Salt baked celeriac & fresh truffle, followed by the Rock & marsh samphire, Caramelized cauliflower, honey roasted parsley root and of course some truffle chips.
We were not ready for the evening to be over and actually it was just heating up, so we said yes to DESSERTS. It took a few minutes to choose from the ones on the menu. Like Vanilla crème brûlée, shortbread Bread and butter pudding, Chocolate fondant, vanilla ice cream, Poached pear, chocolate ganache, Raisin ice cream with pisco, Guest cheese with Chutney.
Chocolate is sexy, so we went for the Chocolate fondant and Vanilla crème brûlée two. The entire meal was light enough to keep our late night shenanigans going. We said adieu to the wonderful and inviting staff and finished our night enjoying our time in Clapham.
Happy that our new date night hotspot Minnow Clapham was worth every bite.
