Comprising of 9 limited edition pieces with blown up stamps and currencies adoring everything from dresses, shorts, tops and (of course) jeans. The collection was inspired by Katrantzou’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection that featured various postage stamps and bank notes – the styles have been seen on Kerry Washington and Jessica Alba in recent months.
“Mary Katrantzou is the must-have print designer of the moment, and this collaboration with Current/Elliott opens her designs to a wider customer,” Carmen Borgonovo, fashion director at my-wardrobe.com, tells Vogue UK. “The unexpected mix of art-house prints on denim makes the collection wearable and undeniably urban with a cool edge.
This was a smart and brave collaboration for both Mary Katrantzou and Current/Elliott. Current/Elliot has established cult status among the fashion insiders since its launch, with a wide range of flattering fits, washes and vintage American appeal so, this collabo could be seen as risky as Katranzou’s prints can often be hit or miss on certain body types.
We believe the collection will be a successful venture, with fans of both labels, including the entire StyleCartel team, already clamoring to get our hands on a few pieces. A few of our key items from the collaboration have to be the dresses and the printed shorts. The dresses are cute and super easy to wear, while the shorts will be a great addition to any girl’s summer wardrobe.
