‘If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun’

Katharine Hepburn

The collection is glam rock meets 1940s glamour.  The climate these days calls for clothing where summer in the city could turn into a late night lovers boat ride, which sums up the ML Resort 2018 collection.

Lupfer got his inspiration for the world’s current affairs and wanted to take us back to a love story. When the sky is grey, the newspapers bleak, fashion is an escape, an awakening. As Spring springs, his girl is ripping up the rule book and championing the eclectic: she is dressing for joy, for adventure.

Just like Katharine Hepburn would.  Ideal for a “Guess Who’s Coming to Diner” moment. And Guess what I am wearing?

The British designer beckons you to embrace the clash and the contrast. Pair sweetie wrapper purple with lemon yellow, fire engine red with not-a-cloud-in-the-sky blue. Layer a fur stole over a lace dress, a molten metallic skirt over a chintzy floral blouse. Unexpected prints call you into the water: a synchronised swimmer glides across knitwear, the introduction of tiny fish turns a classic floral on its head.

Step out of your comfort zone, avoid the obvious. Subversive is sexy: sheer black chiffon teases underneath delicate embroidery, a ladylike skirt reveals a thigh high split. Wear pearls in your ears and feathers on your shoes, then stay up dancing till dawn.

Mannish knits become feminine in soft-focus pastel shades, while pretty florals are toughened up with sporty stripes. There is no wrong way to wear them, no one path to follow.

Who will you be today?  The the women in you roar with this collection.
