Whether you have oily or dry skin, you need loose powder in your life. Every brand on the market sells them, as foundations or transluscent powders. I personaly don’t wear foundation, but I need coverage on the blemishes and dark spots on my face. And for that, concealers and I have become best friends. I have tried many concealers, from the drugstore to high end products, and I made one conclusion. If you don’t want your concealer (or your foundation for that matter) to crease, powder is the way to go.
POWDERS : LOOSE, TRANSLUCENT, MATTIFYING
I have one favorite translucent powder that I use everyday, the Blot Powder by MAC (in the shade medium). It is absolutely perfect to set my under eye area, and most importantly, it is translucent, which means you won’t have a white cast all over your face. I actually never re-apply it during the day, it lasts all day without any touch ups.
If you want a cheaper alternative, you can try the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder. It is as good as the MAC one but less expensive. This powder is a colorless shade that be can be used for all skin tones.
It is incredibly easy to use. You can apply the powder with either a brush, a beauty blender or a beauty sponge, or a puff.
Oily skins will love powders, because it absorbs oil to give a flawless matte finished look.
Dry skin will love it as well, but in a different way. Since the skin is dry, you should not apply a lot because it can look cakey. Just set small areas on your face, and the results will be great.
