LFW SS19: Alexandra Moura

Taking place at the Boiler House for London Fashion Week, Alexandra Moura presented her SS19 collection, inspired by a girl who spends her holidays at her grandmother’s house in the countryside. The collection is a beautiful juxtaposition of a city girl who spent time in Trás-os-Montes, near the frontier of Vila Verde da Raia. Grandmother Amélia and Grandfather Delfim were an inspiration behind the collection, full of childhood references. It beautifully reinforces the history of the designer both aesthetically and conceptually.

The floral motifs found on jacket, jumpers and shirts is a warm reminder of the Impressionist art living room.  The juxtapose in materials highlights the classic and contemporary distinctions in Moura’s life and her grandparents. Beautiful jacquard material used in a floral dress with white gloves and jackets, denim overall dress and jacket with cut out ribbon in the sleeve, with a few oversized, sport-inspired garments, inspired by the success of her previous collections that better represent her city background.

For the fourth time, the brand is collaborating with the Portuguese brand Duffy Sport that provides puffer jackets and accessories for this collection. A new collaboration, with Portuguese footwear brand, EXCEED Shoe Thinkers.
