Le Pigalle Hotel Review
One of my most beloved things to do in life is travel. I actually love to check into hotels, like Le Pigalle and spend a lazy afternoon reading magazines and writing. My passion to write is why being a Travel and lifestyle blogger is an addiction for me. My aim is always to find interesting hotspots like this hotel located in the 9th arrondissements, of Paris, just a 5-minute walk from the Moulin Rouge.
I love to be an influencer on the go who inspires others to travel. This area of Paris is inspirational. Pigalle is situated around the Place Pigalle, bordering on the 9th and the 18th arrondissements. The area is named after the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Pigalle (1714–1785). Pigalle is famous for being a tourist district, with many sex shops, theatres and adult shows on Place Pigalle and the main boulevards. The neighborhood’s raunchy reputation led to its Second World War nickname of “Pig Alley” by Allied soldiers.
The Divan du Monde and the Moulin Rouge, a world-famous cabaret, are both located in Pigalle. Here I was just plotting out the day’s activities to explore the neighborhood and to get in trouble. But first a cappuccino and some people watching.
Henri Toulouse-Lautrec’s studio was here too. Artists such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and Maurice Neumont also once lived here as did Andre Breton, and in 1928 Josephine Baker opened her first night club next door to Breton’s apartment. The works of artist Salvador Dalí can be seen at the nearby Espace Dalí. Now you understand why this is a must for creatives minds like myself.
The Place for Lovers & Writers
This quartier is inspirational for a writer like myself to get lost in her thoughts and soak up the surroundings. While staying in the hotel, I relaxed in the on-site bar and enjoyed a bite to eat in the restaurant. While jotting down my observations of the neighboring businesses.
There are always interesting people walking by. Tourist mixed with locals. Who are always willing to have a little chat before they continue on their journeys. The staff was also very friendly and international too. It was a day of exchanging travel stories and a game of where have you lived before.
I would later return to my room to just gaze out the window and think. After my luxurious bath in the old school bathtub and enjoying the Le Labo products on hand. All while my lover watched and played with the bubbles and the old school record player in the room. With old French classics and more old school hip hop records to scratch. This was our kind of lovers weekend, up in the hills of Paris. With condoms included in every room. LOL, it is nice to know they want all guest to practice safe sex.
In the 9th Arrondissements
The morning after we enjoyed petit dejeuner in bed. It was a very simple French breakfast, with coffee, orange juice, a baguette, and jam. Yummy while again enjoying the view from the window and soaking up the sounds of the neighborhood. It was almost time to check out, but this tantalizing hotel made us feel like booking a few extra nights. We wanted to enjoy the enormous comfy bed just one more time.
Le Pigalle has the charm and sex appeal of its name but also is high tech for today’s modern traveler. It is a place like I said for a lover and for writers to chill on a long weekend. Our neighbors helped spark our drive with the noise of their sexcapades.
The walls are paper thin so we heard everything. We did not need to look at the bright red lights on top of the door to their room to know it was occupied. At first, we thought it was a gimmick of the hotel. Yet, through the night we found out, it was the sexual play of a woman enjoying herself in the room next door. You go girl! Enjoy life and your room.
All the rooms are decorated in a unique style with a specific theme such as the historic Pigalle area. The area is as multicultural as the city. One of the last really true Parisian neighborhoods left in the city rich with a melting pot of cultures. Each room has individual objects, souvenirs, books and second-hand furniture that are so Pigalle.
You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property. Sacré-Coeur is only 800 m from Le Pigalle Hotel, while Opéra Garnier is 1.2 km away. Orly Airport is 17 km from the property. The 9th arrondissement is a great choice for travelers interested in shopping, art, and city walks.Pigalle Metro Station is only a 1-minute walk away.
