Kenzo Paris Fashion Week S/S 2013 Runway Review

by Charlotte Smith

For Kenzo Paris Fashion Week S/S 2013 it was the throwback to the heyday of Kenzo and Jungle fever that is  Jungle Ja, a homage to the store that put Kenzo on the map in Paris, back in the seventies located in the 2nd arrondissement’s Passage Choiseul.  Leon said, “We wanted to start from the beginning, to breathe new life into the idea of the jungle.” Humberto Leon and Carol Lim went right to the source for inspiration; the duo took a trip to Thailand and got a little dirty. They brought their inspiration right to the seats of the editors, the rocks that attendees received with their invites were souvenirs from their trip.

Key Pieces: Utility gear and exotic prints, off-the-shoulder dresses in sturdy cotton poplin, morphed safari jackets and jumpsuits, sweatshirts embroidered with prowling cats.

Colours:  Black, white, stone, gold, green, khaki,  and orange

Accessories: Thigh high rain boots, clutch bags, bangles, pill box clutches, and sunglasses.

Swag: She is the poster child for urban street chic.  She loves the downtown scene in NYC, but is an avid traveller and needs a wardrobe that is hipster cool in any city.  She is not afraid to wear bright colours and logos, because it is all about her swag when she walks down the street.
