India Fashion & Wedding Show Highlights
We could not wait to feast our eyes on gorgeous traditional gowns, jewellery, eat cake, dance and hunt for emerging designers in the market.
The celebration of Indian fashion and Asian weddings hosted an event that was like a carnival. Attendees could plan an over the top event custom built and haute couture ready. Elephants and everything.
You could taste cakes, discover new bakers and book that DJ for a wedding that would get the men on the dance floor. What I really found interesting was how diverse the casting was for the runway collections.
The main catwalk event and exhibition took place at Olympia London from the 10th to 11th November 2018. With India Fashion Week London next door to The National Asian Wedding Show, attendees also received complimentary access to the wedding show exhibition stands on the ground level. It was so cute to see future brides and grooms sitting in the audience watching the runway.
We, single ladies, took notes while couples cooed at each other.
Not only did the runway parade beautiful outfits for the ladies, but our men were also dressed like kings on the runway. A girl can dream, can’t she?
As I watched the ensembles walk past, I wished I would just get invited to an Asain weeding to wear one of the traditional dresses and jewellery. Navraj Hunjan the male model looks dashing.
We also found the sister team of S t y l m K two London-based sisters, Sharon & Mandeep, who are dedicated to providing an authentic insight into their Style. I walked by the booth three times deciding to save the best for last. I wanted to touch and meet the sisters wearing stunning laced pants with matching jackets.

Established in September 2015, S t y l m K share their passion of translating high-end fashion looks into refined modern adaptations of daily wearable fashion, bridging the gap between a luxury finish and an attainable price tag. Inspired by Catwalk and Contemporary Street Style trends they look to achieve a perfect balance between daring and directional dressing; in a way that allows emphasis to be drawn on the cut and texture of a piece of clothing. Stay tuned for a feature on the ladies.
This fashion week might have lost its lustre, but we still enjoyed discovering new talent and an emerging market. The weekend was about learning, lusting and planning that next big event with a bang. Dripped in beads, silk, rubies, lace and sequins.
