Hotel des Grands Boulevards| A Sexy Hotel in Paris’s Bourgeois District

Hotel des Grands Boulevards Paris

Hotel des Grands Boulevards is a sexy hideaway in the centre of Paris’s bourgeois district. I feel chain hotels are stale and dry, but I still would rather stay in a hotel then an Airbnb. I just like service and not having to clean up after myself.

I prefer hotels with their own je ne sais quoi. The infatuation is with ones that have their own story. The decor of boutique hotels that look like you stepped back in time with a nouveau vogue feel. This is exactly the vibe at the Hotel des Grands Boulevards Paris. If you walked by you might mistake it for a speakeasy-like in Harlem in New York in the 20’s or a jazz club in the same area of Paris.

Tucked away from the hustle & bustle of the French capital, Experimental Group opens its second hotel in Paris: Hotel des Grands Boulevards. The hotel comes to life in a large, elegant building centred for me a strange part of Paris. Right off the centre bourgeois districts, not far away what Parisians call our silicon alley.

The hotel is surrounded by the Sentier and its retail shops, the Faubourg Montmartre’s theatres & the Opera House, close to Strasbourg Saint-Denis’ the streets are always buzzing around the Faubourg Poissonnière’s hip restaurants. Hotel des Grands Boulevards was erected shortly before the French Revolution built on the foundation of an old garden, now a secret garden reached through a long passageway into the building.

Hotel des Grands Boulevards is a lavish space featuring 50 bedrooms, a restaurant and a rooftop terrace designed by Dorothée Meilichzon. Inspired by building’s history without falling into the cliché Louis XVI style, the interior seduces the senses bridging the gap between romanticism & aristocracy with a gentle nod to the mischievous.

Hotel des Grands Boulevards has kept its soul while bringing the delights of modern comfort : espresso machine & organic coffee, complete silence for peaceful nights, and the famous bed of the Grand Pigalle, handmade in Brittany, enveloped in linen cotton and satin 300 thread count sheets, a thermostatic faucet, amenity kit, a mirror that transforms into a TV …

The rooms are so sultry you do not want to leave. With state of the art bathrooms to spread out, and pamper yourself.  Then get ready for drinks at one of the two bars on the main floor.

If you want a little more quiet night in with a nice bottle, then stay on the terrace that overlooks the glass roof of the restaurant on the ground floor. And star gaze and have a romantic Paris night.

The next day you can sit in the same glass roof dining area and have a  classic French breakfast or a more healthy one and read the morning papers.  The Parisian hotel way.  The staff of the Hotel des Grands Boulevards habitually have a smile on their face.
